There is a rumor which said that Microsoft is currently working on a new Xbox that offers an integrated HD DVD drive, dual HDTV tuners, an Electronic Programme Guide, and a Zune dock. Some says it will be called “the Xbox 720″. However, only time will tell the truth. There is no confirmation from Microsoft so far.

Samsung Electronics introduced its new generation of Blu-ray player at KES 2007. The BD-P1400 features 7.1-channel and Dolby Digital Plus and comes equipped with a HDMI 1.3 AV receiver and Samsung’s Anynet+ technology which enables you to network your home via one remote controller.

Priced at a hefty $3000, the PC also comes equipped with 2GB of RAM, 500GB SATA hard drive, ATI X2400 Pro 256MB graphics, wireless keyboard / mouse, 22-inch wide LCD monitor, and Windows Vista Home Premium. You can also buy a cheaper model ($2000) which offers Core 2 Duo E4500 processor, 320GB of HDD, and same other specifications.

LG Korea has announced the XPION PC which will be perfect for movie addicts. This PC comes equipped with a super multi drive that sports DVD, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. It looks like a Tivo stuck to a red PlayStation 2. The system is powered by the latest Core 2 Duo processor and a Geforce GPU. Unfortunately, the LG XPION PC is only available in Korea.

The new HP Elite m9000 Series Desktop PC sports an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600, a DX10-happy NVidia GeForce 8400 GS card, and a dual-format blue-laser combo drive that will playback both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs. Overall, HLDS has built a reliable drive that goes beyond your usual needs. Although the device is considered as a premium product that could attract demanding users only, it could be a good replacement for that old DVD burner connected to your high-end PC if you need the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD formats as well. The drive is currently priced at $1200.

According to rumors, Samsung is currently working on its BD-UP5000 “Duo HD Player”. The player will be released in July. The BD-UP5000 “Duo HD Player” will be able to handle HD DVD and Blu-ray discs. It offers HDMI 1.3 output and support for all new audio formats. Other specs include DCDi processing for DVD upscaling and HDMI output at 1080/24p. The estimated price is at around $799 to $999.

The Toshiba Qosmio G40 laptop comes jam packed with a built-in HD DVD player that also functions as a DVD+-R DL burner. The laptop comes with a 17 inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, making it just right to playback your movies in full HD. Other specs include a 512MB RAM video card, HDMI input, 2GB RAM, and 400GB of storage space. The G40 is powered by Intel’s Core 2 Duo T7300 processor. The Toshiba Qosmio G40 will hit stores this June. Pricing is still in a mystery.
