
If you thought getting DVD’s and Blu-ray discs in the mail was convenient, the new $229 Apple TV Take 2 will show you a whole new level of convenience and laziness. You can watch YouTube, podcasts, listen to iTunes, watch HD movies and shows, view photos in high resolution, link to your computer to share files, and probably cure cancer with this new device…You don’t need a computer to run this, it’s free- standing and ass-kicking. Netflix must be shaking in their boots.

It now only has HD capabilities, but it also has a remote and an HDMI connector for audio. There’s no word on price at the moment but it is said to release sometime late Spring.

To make up for there poor quality in products, Exemode has come out with their new HD camcorder called the DV580HD, which features a 32MB built-in memory and compatible with SD and SDHC cards. Exemode wants $222 for this camcorder.

Here is a new HD DVD player from Venturer. The SHD7000 claims to be one of the cheapest HD DVD players. Priced at around $200, the player has a maximum output of 1080i, support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD in 5.1-channel surround, outputs through HDMI, and uses Ethernet connections for updates or Internet-based special movie features.

Nakamichi has released a 52 inch LCD TV that is inspired by the traditional Japanese dress known as Kimonos. The Kimono LCD TV offers a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (full HD in all probability), a 178-degree viewing angle, and a contrast ratio of 5,000 to 1. No word on pricing so far, however, we are sure it will be expensive.

JVC released the KT-HDP1 portable HD radio that offers a high-resolution broadcast system and has a white LCD screen to display track info and other data. The gadget sports AM, FM and HD tuner. Additionally, the device also provides 5-Way navigation keys and comes equipped with 18 preset channels. Other features include 3.5mm mini plug Audio Output, wireless Remote control, HD Station Scan and Seek and 12V cigarette lighter adapter plug. JVC KT-HDP1 portable HD radio will cost $149.95. It requires optional Car Install Kit or Home Dock Kit.
