HP comes back with their largest computer LCD display known as the 2709m. This 27-inch monitor supports a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 1920×1080 Full HD resolution, a 5ms On/Off response times (typical), a 3ms Gray to Gray response times, a 400 nits brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 30,000 dynamic contrast ratio, and a 92% color gamut. Kodak will release the new Zi8 HD ultra-portable camcorder in September 2009. As a successor to the Zi6 and the Zx1, the new Zi8 comes with a larger 2.5-inch LCD, a face recognition, an image stabilization, and a 1080p HD recording. Users can also upload pictures directly to YouTube and Facebook. In addition, the camcorder has a flip-out USB arm for connection to a computer. Our friends at Engadget Spanish have a new toy in their office. Asus has sent them the ASUS O!Play HDP-R1 media player. The gadget supports an HD video playback in a wide variety of codecs, including MPEG1/2/4, H.264, VC-1, and RM/RMVB. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing or release date in the US. Here is the latest 7.1-channel 180-watts amplifier from Denon that features AL24 Processing Plus and video upscaling capability for DVDs. LG Japan has recently released a new stylish 23-inch HD LCD monitor for the Japanese market. Known as the M237WS, this new widescreen HD LCD supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and features 16:9 aspect ratio, 5ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness and 160/170 degrees viewing angle.
