Philips Wireless HDTV Link Available Stateside

Philips has finally launched its Wireless HDTV Link in the US market. It is basically a wireless HDMI transmitter/receiver kit that comes with two HDMI and two component video inputs. The device allows you to replace all of your HD cables for set-top boxes, HD satellite receiver, Blu-ray player and gaming console with a single box that controls all of them through a wireless connection. Archos 5 Internet Tablet Shipped

Amazon has started selling the Archos 5 Internet Tablet. In case you didn’t know, the gadget is a 4.3-inch (800 x 480) touchscreen PMP with WiFi, 3.5G connectivity and GPS. The cool part of the Archos 5 is that it supports HDTV out via an HDMI output. Other features include an optional DVR station, Web TV and Web Radio, instant messaging, DroidIn, Twitroid, Deezer for music streaming, Dailymotion, ThinkFree Mobile, etc. The 160GB Archos 5 Internet Tablet is priced at $389.99 each. ViewSonic PJD6251 And PJL9371 Projectors

ViewSonic has released not one but two new projectors for the mass market, which is known as the PJD6251 and PJL9371. The ViewSonic PJD6251 is a 3D-ready projector designed for conference rooms or classroom settings and has a 1024×768 native resolution with a 2,800:1 contrast ratio and 3,700 lumens of brightness. The projector also provides HDMI, Composite, S-Video and VGA inputs, and Ethernet for remote control via a local network. Meanwhile, the ViewSonic PJL9371 is specially designed for larger facilities such as auditoriums, and provides a maximum screen resolution of 1024×768 with a contrast ratio of 2,000:1 and a brightness of 4,000 lumens. This projector boasts seven default picture modes including Cinema, Dynamic and Blackboard, and is able to be controlled remotely through an RS-232 serial port. Asus UL50 15.6-inch Laptop Available Stateside

The 15.6-inch Asus UL50 laptop is now available in the US. The laptop comes jam packed with a 1.3GHz Intel SU7300 ultra-low voltage processor with an Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, a 1,366 x 768 glare-type LED backlight display, up to 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive and Windows Vista Home Premium OS. Additional features include a DVD burner, a VGA webcam, HDMI and VGA outputs, and 802.11b/g/n WiFi connectivity. Asus claims that the UL50 will provide up to 11-hours of battery life. The new LG FB44 iPod docking station has been unveiled during IFA 2009. The iPod dock produces a total output power of 40-watts, which is more than enough for listening to music in a small room. The gadget also supports DVD playback with a 1080p upscaling and a HDMI port, so you can connect the LG FB44 to your HDTV. Sony BRAVIA ZX5 Unveiled

Sony have officially announced their new BRAVIA HDTVs, the ZX5 series, complete with high-end features including a 240Hz “Flow Motion”, an integrated wireless streaming and an edge-mounted LED backlighting. Measuring at just 16.6mm (52-inch) or 15.8mm (46-inch) thick, the BRAVIA ZX5 also has four HDMI ports, a USB, both ethernet and a telephone port (for the integrated modem), an optical digital out, PC and S-Video, and two 10W speakers. The ZX5 range will initially be available in 46- and 52-inch sizes, both supporting 1080p. The Sony BRAVIA ZX5 will be released in Japan in November 2009. [Slashgear]

Philips has recently showed off its Wireless HDTV Link at IFA Berlin 2009. This HDMI transmitter and receiver pair allows you to place your actual A/V components up to 20 yards away from the set. The base station comes with two HDMI connectors and two component connectors, allowing you the freedom to switch between TV, DVD and games consoles simply and quickly, without having to change cables and plugs in between uses. Japanese laptop manufacturer DosPara has rolled out the Prime Note Galleria GS notebook PC that boasts a 15.4-inch with a 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution, a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 CPU, an nVidia GeForce 966M GS with 512MB of VRAM, a 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM, and a 500 GB of SATA HDD. World's Smallest HDMI Hi-Def Photo Player From Hi-Den Vision

Hong Kong-based Hi-Den Vision has recently introduced the HD-0311 that is claimed to be the world’s smallest HDMI Hi-Def Photo Player. The HD-0311 allows playback of the photos on an HDTV at up to 1080p HDMI resolution, and it also lets the user use the remote control to customize the viewing of the photos.
