BeoVision 8 features both a high light transmission and a high black level, which is important to create the best picture possible on a LCD screen. In addition, this TV is also offers the automatic picture control that dynamically changes the TV’s black and white balance to suit the light conditions in your home. The BeoVision 8 television retails for $3,590.

Sony Bravia X2550 Series

Sony Japan has released Bravia X2550 Series that consist of three full HD LCD TV’s in 40 inch, 46 inch and 52 inch sizes. These LCD screens feature a reflective piano black finish and a resolution of 1920 x 1080. The Bravia X2550 Series also sport analog / digital tuner, HDMI 1080p output, Ethernet and built in speakers delivering an output of 11W x 2 channels. Sony’s proprietary Bravia image engine offers live color correction for superior image quality.

The Sony Bravia X2550 Series will be available in Japan from April 25 with prices starting at $ 3500 for the 40 inch model, $ 4120 for 46 inch model and $ 6100 for the 52 incher.

Sanyo showed off its waterproof TV at CeBIT in Hanover, Germany. This 42 Inch weatherproof TV is probably the biggest HD-ready waterproof TV in the world. Dubbed as the Sanyo 42LM4WPR-E, it comes with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, a brightness level of 500 cd/m², and a contrast ratio of 800 to 1. Pricing and availability details are still unknown.

Sharp Japan has released five new additions to its Aquos R series, including the 5 new TV’s measure 42 inch, 46 inch, 52 inch, 57 inch and 65inch. They supports full HD resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels, double-speed advanced super view which prevents the motion blur on fast scenes, 3000:1 of contrast ratio, 450 cd/m2 of brightness level, and a quick 3ms of response time. These HD LCDs also come with an analog / digital tuner and a 2.1 channel speaker system with a 1 bit amplifier for superior sound. The new Sharp Aquos R series will go on sale in Japan from March 10 this year. No info on pricing yet. Stay tuned for more updates!

In addition, the Bravia XBR 70 also has a 178-degree viewing angle, so you get the same picture quality from the side. Unfortunately, the Bravia XBR LCD will cost you a hefty $33,000 when it ships to stores next month.

The new Canon HV20 camcorder is capable of recording 1080 high-def video in 16:9 format. The camcorder features a 10x optical zoom with a built-in image stabilizer, and a 3.1MP camera. Users also can hook up the HV20 to their HDTV via its HDMI output. It saves video to MiniDV tapes and saves pictures to miniSD cards. The Canon HV20’s price tag is expected at around $1,099.

Samsung releases three new HDTV LCD (Samsung LNT4065F, Samsung LNT4665F and Samsung LNT5265F) at CES in Las Vegas. They will be out in March 2007 and features a resolution of 1920×1080, a contrast ratio of 12 000:1 and support for HDMI version 1.3. No word yet on pricing.

Iiyama released the ProLite C2010WTV-B1, a new 20 inch LCD TV with a 1366×768 resolution, 450cd/m2 brightness, a 700:1 ratio for contrast, and 8ms response time. Priced at around $580, this LCD TV has a digital and analogical TV tuner, and an HDMI port (1080i only).
