It seems that HP is getting into low-cost computing with its Mini-Q Net PC. This entry-level mini-tower PC comes in two variants. The first one is the HP Mini-Q 2030 that features a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom Dual-Core CPU, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA hard-drive (7200rpm), Dual-Layer DVD-Burner, and Microsoft Windows Vista OS. The second one is the HP Mini-Q 2020 that comes equipped with a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom Single-Core CPU with 1GB RAM and Microsoft Windows XP. Hewlett-Packard’s USB Floppy Drive Key features a 2-in-1 USB media solution that offers the ability to read the USB flash drive as a standard storage device or a floppy device. You just need to connect the USB flash drive to a computer, copy files required onto the USB floppy section and transfer the flash drive over to the selected computer and boot up. Here is a giant color printer from Hewlett Packard. The HP Scitex TJ8500 is a high-speed wide format digital printer that features production speed up to 70 sheets/hour or 400 sqm/hour at 336dpi. The printer utilities environmentally friendly HP Scitex UV850 Supreme inks, which are ideal for a wide range of substrates including self-adhesive, vinyl, banners, canvas, offset, screen papers, and uncoated synthetic materials. Pricing and availability info of this huge printer are still unavailable.
Here are two Hewlett-Packard’s new workstations based on Intel Xeon processors (up to eight cores). The xw6600 and xw8600 desktops feature 128 gigabytes memory (in the xw8600), up to 5 terabytes storage capacity, and dual PCI Express Gen2 x16 graphics slots. The company claims that these PCs are 90 percent recyclable by weight and come with more than 80 percent efficient power supplies. The HP xw6600 and xw8600 will be released in mid December with the price tag at around $1,200.
Top computer manufacturer Hewlett-Packard has launched its IQ775 TouchSmart Desktop PC that sports 2GB of RAM, an 1.9GHz AMD Turion Dual-Core TL-58 processor, and NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 with 256 MB of video memory. The system also features and NTSC television tuner, a 500 GB SATA drive, a supermulti DVD burner with Lightscribe technology, 100-BaseT Ethernet, a front-panel 8-in-1 media card reader, 2 USB 2.0 ports, a four-pin IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless networking, S-Video and co-ax video input, and support for 5.1 surround sound. What make this PC cool is its 19 inch LCD touchsceen display. The HP IQ775 will be released in the US, Canada, Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand for $1,599.
HP has refreshed their iPaq line. Supposedly, two new models of PDAs are coming out October 8th; the 110 and 210. They both feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, identical 624mHz processors and WM6 Pro. The smaller 110 will cost $299, while the 210 is $399.
Hewlett-Packard comes back with a new notebook PC in Voodoo line up with the latest Intel Core 2 Extreme processor. The 15.4-inch ENVY M:152 adopts Santa Rosa platform, Core 2 Extreme X7800 processor, up to 4GB RAM, 1680 x 1050 resolution, Nvidia GeForce 8600GT graphics card with 512MB memory, expandable hard drive and dual layer DVD burner. The laptop even features a TV Tuner, 2.0MP webcam, microphone, Bluetooth, fingerprint reader, and a/g/n wireless. The Hewlett-Packard ENVY M:152 retails for around $3300.
