HP 2.0MP Autofocus Webcam

HP unveiled its new 2MP webcam that features CMOS Sensor with AF and HD video quality sharp, crisp pictures. The camera has a unique notebook clip plus a tilt and pan feature to adjust the cam. Additionally, it also has an HP instant chat button. With the ArcSoft Magic I feature you can enhance your video conferencing experience with special effects. The webcam is compatible with AIM, Windows Live Messenger, Skype, and Yahoo! Messenger. However, there is no word on the pricing and availability so far.

HP Introduces iPAQ 600 and 900 Series Mobile Phones

HP’s iPAQ 600 Business Navigator has an integrated GPS, a 2.8-inch touch screen, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM, 3MP autofocus digital camera, WiFi, and Windows Mobile 6 Professional. The smartphone is powered by 520MHz Marvell PXA270 processor. Meanwhile, the iPAQ 900 series offers a standard QWERTY keypad, and a 2.46-inch display. Both cell phones will be released in December.

HP iPAQ 314 Standalone GPS Navigation System

HP introduced some new mobile devices from the iPAQ line yesterday. One of them is the HP iPAQ 314. It is a standalone GPS navigation system with a 4.3 inch touch screen that offers a 800×480 pixel resolution. This gadget supports various types of media files and it can synchronize your Outlook via its Bluetooth function to give you access to your contacts. iPAQ 314 will come with maps of Western Europeon countries already installed. As usual, there is no word on pricing or availability.

New HP Elite m9000 Series Desktop PC

The new HP Elite m9000 Series Desktop PC sports an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600, a DX10-happy NVidia GeForce 8400 GS card, and a dual-format blue-laser combo drive that will playback both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs. The system also features “unlimited” storage expandability, starting with double-HDD bays for secure mirrored disc arrays.

HP MediaSmart Servers Pricing Unveiled

It looks like some websites unveiled pricing information for the MediaSmart Home Server, HP’s first Windows Home Server machine, OnSale.com, PC Mall and Best Buy sell the 1TB EX475 for $749, while the 500GB EX470 retails for $599. Amazon also listed both models with the same pricing.

HP is about to upgrade their mobile series with Windows Mobile 6 operating system. The iPAQ VoiceMessenger 514 has been the first member of this new generation, which will also include integrated GPS functionality. The other series will be configured in the following way:

  • 100 Series: The substitute of old the rz1710. Entry range PDA with no phone but at for a very low price
  • 200 Series: PDA/PND (autonomous GPS) hybrids, replacing the range iPAQ rx57/59
  • 300 Series: equipped with a VGA screen (replacing ancestral the iPAQ hx4700)
  • 500 Series: medium range smartphones
  • 600 Series: 3G PDA phones equipped with keyboard and integrated GPS.
  • 900 Series: The successor of the HP iPAQ hw6915. Specially designed for business users.

The first devices from the new HP line-up will be released at the end of the year.

The 20.1 inch HP Pavilion HDX notebook PC that was leaked in May is now available. The laptop is based on Santa Rosa platform and features Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz T7500 / 2.4GHz T7700 or 2.6GHz Core 2 Extreme X7800 processor, up to 4GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics card with 512MB memory, HD DVD drive, 1680 x 1050 resolution, 320GB hard drive, HDTV Hybrid TV Tuner, fingerprint reader, Bluetooth, a/b/g/n wireless, webcam, HDMI, and Windows Vista operating system. HP Pavilion HDX retails for $3000.

HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC Reviewed

TabletPCReview have given their first impressions of the HP Compaq 2710p tablet PC. It is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor U7600 1.2GHz, Intel GMA X3100 graphics, 80GB (4200 rpm) hard drive, 2GB DDR2 SDRAM, and 12.1 inch Illumi-Lite WXGA UWVA anti-glare with Digitizer. Measuring at just 11.42inch x 8.35inch x 1.11inch, the HP Compaq 2710p tablet PC is priced at $2,300. Here is the verdict.

Performance wise the 2710p did great. I haven’t ran all the benchmark tests yet, so you will have to check back for those results and the hands-on video in my complete review next week. Overall this is a solid little tablet from both the build and design perspectives. It may not be full of features, but it has all the essentials.
