
Hitachi has upgraded its SimpleDrive external hard drive series by releasing the 2TB model. Priced at $249.99, the Hitachi 2TB SimpleDrive boasts a Turbo USB 2.0 interface, which is reported to be 25% faster than traditional USB 2.0 interface. This vertical external hard drive is also available in 500GB and 1TB versions. The 500GB model is priced at $99.99, meanwhile the 1TB model retails for $129.99. Hitachi has recently unveiled the Travelstar 7K500, a 2.5-inch 500GB hard disk (7200rpm) that is specially build for laptops. The hard disk drive is ideal for multitasking, gaming and graphic-intensive applications on notebooks, gaming systems and professional external storage solutions. The Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 also consumes less power. In Idle mode, the drive uses only 0.69W and that goes to 1.8W during a read/write (0.5W/1.4W for the 5400rpm version). [Hitachi]

Hitachi has finally launched the world’s first 7200RPM 2TB hard drive for the mass market. The 2TB Deskstar 7K2000 combines high performance and high capacity with low power and other eco-friendly features designed to enable Energy-Star rated computers and other high performance desktop systems. A two Terabytes hard drive is more than enough to collect HD quality movies, or thousands of MP3 files. No info on pricing at this time. [Hitachi]

The Hitachi HP-CN12 bean-shaped ear canal earphones are available in eight different colors. These earphones work on a frequency zone of 20Hz – 22kHz and deliver and impedance of 16-Ohms. The HP-CN12 also features a slider that adjusts the length of the wire and prevents it from entangling. These unique earphones will be launched in Japan on July 24th, 2009 for 1500 Yen ($17). More

Hitachi has proudly introduced the Ultrastar C10K300 6Gbps SAS HDD with a power consumption of only 3.1Watts in idle and 6.1Watts in operational mode. The device also features 64MB of buffer memory, a 10,000rpm speed for only 29dB. If you are interested, these hard drives will be available in 147GB and 300GB models. [Akihabara]

Hitachi’s new Wooo is part of Japan’s KDDI AU Spring line. What makes this handset cool is that it comes with the ability to display 3D videos and pictures. Its 3.1-inch display offers 845 x 480 resolution and can be swiveled horizontally to be more TV-like. Other features include microSD memory card slot, 1Seg TV tuner support, and e-wallet support. Hitachi will release its Professional Series projectors that target large venues. The CP-WX11000 and CP-SX12000 3LCD projectors will target the high-end professional AV marketplace which includes auditoriums, lecture halls, large houses of worship and staging productions. The CP-WX11000 features WXGA resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 6,500 ANSI lumens brightness, 2500:1 contrast ratio, and five optional lenses. Its hybrid filter and dust-resistant cooling system allows the filter to run for up to 10,000 hours without maintenance.
The CP-SX12000 provides SXGA+ resolution, 7,000 ANSI lumens brightness, five optional lenses, 2,500:1 contrast ratio, DMI, BNC, DVI, RGB, composite, component, and S-video connectivity. It also shares a similar dust-resistant cooling system and inorganic LCD panels as with the CP-WX11000. [UberGizmo]

Hitachi boasts its new AV projector that provides 7,500 lumens of brightness. The Hitachi CP-X10000 also features 2,500:1 contrast ratio, ultra-wide range lens shift, 10-bit full digital video processor, 10,000-hour filter and RS-232 network bridge. This projector comes with the bayonet-style lens attachment that allows a choice of lenses with a variety of throw distances for different size audiences. No word on pricing at this time. [Hitachi]

Hitachi Maxell has rolled out its HP-NC20.IPS earphones today. These earphones provide the noise-cancellation technology that is able to cancel up to 20dB of noise. The Hitachi Maxell HP-NC20.IPS Earphones are compatible with 4G iPods, 1G and 2G iPod touches. Just remember that it will reduce battery life by up to 66% when connected. The latest Hitachi CP-X809J video projector is specially made for a professional use. It is actually an inorganic panel based projector that provides a brightness level of 5000 lumens with 275Watts lamp, and 1024×768 resolution. The projector also offers a 1.2x zoom, Ethernet, power management, and four x 4W SRS WOW speakers. The Hitachi CP-X809J retails for approx. €6700 in Japan. [Pocket-lint]
