We didn’t go to CEATEC 2008, but those who did spotted this 15mm thin 37-inch HDTV from Hitachi. While details are blurry, this 1,920 x 1,080 panel comes with a nicely designed stand and rumored to be in production sometime in 2009. Kinda makes our bedroom LCD TV look fat and overweight heh. [Engadget]

Hitachi has recently announced the world’s first Blu-Ray Camcorder DZ-BD10HA. This camcorder has the flexibility to record HD video onto three different formats (Blu-ray Disc, Hard Drive, SDHC). The camcorder is also capable of capturing 6.22 mega pixel stills onto an optional SD or SDHC card. Its Face Detection feature automatically detects and focuses on the face to provide true-to-life color accuracy. With the push of one button the user can transfer HD video from the SDHC card or hard drive to a Blu-ray disc all within the camcorder; without having to use PC at all. Hitachi has announced its new Full HD camera, the DZ-BD10H, which will be available on August 9th in japan for 160,000 Yen ($ 1600). This new camera will feature a 7 Megapixel CMOS sensor, 10X optical zoom lens, 2.7 inch screen, image stabilizer and a brand new technology which can recognize upto 5 face simultaneously and adjust the focusing, exposure etc for best image quality. The onboard 30GB hard drive can accommodate 4 hours 30 minutes of HD video, Blu-Ray takes an hour of recording and a 32GB SDHC card can record 4 hours 25 minutes of full HD video. Hitachi will release two new projectors. Both feature a 1,024 x 768 native resolution, 2,200 and 2,600 lumens, a 500:1 contrast ratio, built-in 7-watt speaker and 29 dB noise rating in Whisper Mode along with an anti-theft functionality, remote monitoring / management and a 2,000-hour hybrid filter. Hitachi has updated its new CinemaStar line of hard drives by releasing the C5K320 (2.5 inch hard drive) and the 5K500 (3.5 inch hard drive). The C5K320 is able to store up to 320GB of data while the larger 5K500 can store 500GB. Both hard drives feature 8MB data buffer. These hard drive were designed to extend the recording capacity of DVRs in home theater setups. No word on pricing so far. [Electronista]

Hitachi will be dropping a new Blu-ray burner called the DZ-WR90. It provides you nstant Blu-ray home movies by plugging a camcorder into it. But is has to be a high definition camcorder because of the awesome ability to record video on DVD-R discs. The burner will be in Japan sometime in mid July. [SlashGear]

Hitachi will be launching their 1.5 UltraThin LCD HDTVs in 32-, 37-, 42- and 47-inch versions.The X-Series comes with a 2-year warranty with a price range from $1,999 to $4,699, while the V-series has a 1-year warranty and prices from about $1,799 to $4,499. The UT47X902, UT47V702, UT32A302/W, UT32V502/W, UT42V702 and UT37V702 might be available from July to September. [Engadget]

The Hitachi CPX3 3LCD mobile short-throw projectors features WXGA (1,280 x 800) resolution, 2,000 lumens brightness, HDMI terminal, wide-angle lens, and integrated 1W speaker. Japan will be selling 2 new LCD monitors by Hitachi called the 19LM-W1 (19†WXGA+) and the 17LM-1 (17†SXGA) which feature HDMI input, a contrast ratio of 1000:1 for the 19†and 800:1 for the 17, and a brightness of 300 cdm/2. No word on when these will release exactly or even the prices.

Hitachi is offering a personalized phone in Japan by the end of March. It will feature an e-display or “Silhouette screen†as well as a variety of 95 patterns. The Hitachi handset will support 250 minutes of call time and has a 2.8-inch WQVGA display, 2GB microSD, 1.97 megapixel camera and 1-Seg. No pricing available as of right now.
