
Hitachi is ready to launch a new series of PDP (Plasma) TV and LCD TV in the Japanese market. Known as the Hitachi Wooo XP07 series, both PDP (Plasma) TV and LCD TV come equipped with a built-in 320GB HDD and a trio of digital TV tuners, allowing you to record two channel simultaneously. Hitachi has unveiled a new 4.5-inch IPS LCD for smartphones, which is better the Apple’s Retina display. The new Hitachi LED-backlit LCD has a super large 1280 x 720 pixel resolution with a 329 pixel-per-inch density and a 1,100:1 contrast ratio. The Hitachi Ultrastar 7K3000 is the world’s first 7200RPM hard drive rated at 2.0 million hours MTBF and backed by a five-year limited warranty. The new storage device offers 50 percent more capacity in the same footprint and does so at a 32 percent reduction in watts/GB versus Hitachi’s prior generation Ultrastar A7K2000 drives. Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) has announced the availability of two new drives under CinemaStar family. Known as the CinemaStar C5K750 and 5K2000, both hard disk drives are optimized for the growing digital video recorder (DVR), IPTV set-top-box (STB), video surveillance and emerging hard drive-embedded TV markets. The 2.5-inch CinemaStar C5K750 is Hitachi’s first CE drives in the market with Advanced Format, which increases the physical sector size on hard drives from 512 bytes to 4096 (4K) bytes. It is currently available in 750GB, 640GB and 500GB of storage spaces.
Available in 1.5TB and 2TB of storage capacities, the 3.5-inch CinemaStar 5K2000 family comes equipped with the CoolSpin technology to deliver a greater level of power efficiency and quiet operation for energy-conscious, environmentally-friendly computers. Hitachi has unveiled its new 5,400RPM Travelstar Z5K500, which is claimed as the world’s thinnest hard disk drive for netbooks and tablets. Measuring at only 7mm thick, the drive features 1.8 Watts read/write power and 0.55 Watts low power idle. The Hitachi Travelstar Z5K500 also delivers a nearly silent operation at 1.9dB idle/ 2.1dB seek. The storage device has an 8MB cache, a Serial ATA 3Gb per second interface and physical sector size of 4,096 bytes (up to 512 bytes). Hitachi comes back with its new Ultrastar SSD400S solid state drive (SSD) family. Available in 100GB, 200GB or 400GB of storage capacity, the drive features both 2.5-inch 6Gb/s Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and 3.5-inch 4Gb/s Fibre Channel (FC) interfaces. The Ultrastar SSD400S family combines Hitachi’s proven enterprise hard disk drive (HDD) expertise with Intel’s extensive capabilities in developing high-endurance 34nm, single-level cell (SLC) NAND flash memory and advanced SSD technology. The new Ultrastar SSD400S family provides up to 535MB/s read and 500MB/s write throughput with 6Gb/s SAS, and 390MB/s read and 340MB/s write throughput with 4Gb/s FC. Hitachi has unveiled the Hitachi Ultrastar C10K600 Enterprise HDD, which is claimed as the industry’s fastest and most power-efficient 10,000 rpm enterprise class HDD. Available in up to 600GB of storage space, the 2.5-inch drive drive spins at 10,000rpm and uses the 6Gb/s SAS interface. The drive delivers 15% better random and 18% faster sequential performance than other products on the market today. Hitachi also claims that the HDD needs 22% less power during operation compared to other products on the market. In addition, the Hitachi Ultrastar C10K600 Enterprise HDD uses a 64MB cache to optimize the drives read/write response time. Hitachi has announced the availability of the 5K750 and 7K750 series. Available in 500GB, 640GB, 750GB of storage capacities, both hard drives support a SATA 3.0Gb/s interface and the new Advanced Format, which uses a 4K sector size. The Advanced Format improves data integrity in high capacities and improves performance. The 5K750 and 7K750 are also available in Enhanced Availability (EA) editions, which are designed for servers and other systems requiring 24/7 operation.
