
Famous home theater manufacturer Onkyo today introduced their latest high-end home theater receivers in the form of the TX-NR807 and TX-SR707. The TX-NR807 is able to stream audio from Internet-based services such as Pandora, Rhapsody, Sirius and Internet radio from vTuner’s database. The receiver can also play music on networked PCs and hard drives thanks to the DLNA 1.5 support. The TX-NR807 is compatible with MP3, WMA, FLAC, OGG Vorbis and AAC file playback from PCs. Other features include six HDMI inputs, upconverts DVDs to 1080p, and can deliver 135W per channel. Meanwhile, the TX-SR707 lacks of the networking compatibility, and is less powerful, at 100W per channel. Both receivers are 7.2-channel systems. The Samsung HT-BD3252 is the company’s latest Blu-ray home theater system that offers a total output power of 1000 watts. This 5.1-channel system comes with rear wireless speakers and supports all the latest high definition audio and video codecs including Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro-Logic II, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital TrueHD as well as DTS-HD Master Audio. The system also features built-in wireless access to the latest streaming and PC-based multimedia content like Pandora, Netflix and Blockbuster. Sony releases two new 5.1-channel Blu-ray HTIB systems, the BDV-E300 and BDV-E500W. Both home theater systems support BD-Live-capable (Profile 2.0) Blu-ray player, BRAVIA Sync technology, and Sony’s Digital Media Port to easily control Apple’s iPod and Sony’s Walkman line. The Sony BDV-E500W features an integrated S-AIR wireless audio capabilities that allows you to place your rear speakers in the room wirelessly. Here is KEF’s latest 5.1 speaker system. Dubbed as the KHT2005.3, the system consists of four HTS2001.3 satellites, an HTC2001.3 center channel speaker and the new KUBE-2 subwoofer. Sony Japan has announced the HT-IS100 a 5.1 channel home theater system. The system consists of four satellite speakers that measures 42.67mm x 42.67mm and a sub-woofer. Other features include 3 x HDMI ports, AM / FM tuner, S-Master audio system and remote control. The Sony HT-IS100 5.1 Home theater system adopts Sony’s Digital Cinema Auto Calibration (DCAC) auto speaker set-up technology and a Multi-speaker Formation function. LG has recently introduced its new “Chocolate” home theater in the Korean market. Known as the HT972TR, the home theater system features an integrated CD/DVD player and offers a total power of 1000W. The system has 5 speakers with 155W and a subwoofer with 255 Watts. The touchscreen buttons on the front of these speakers are inspired by the navigation buttons on the LG Chocolate cellphone. In addition, the HT972TR plays MP3 and WMA audio files, JPEG images and DivX videos (DVD±RW, DVD±R, DVD), CD-R and CD-RW. This home theater also adopts the VSM technology (Virtual Sound Matrix/three-dimensional sound) that extends the original 5.1 to emulate a 10.1 channel configuration.
