HP will be dropping a color critical display called the DreamColor LP2480xz. Checking in at 24-inches diagonal, this 30-bit, LED-backlit features more than 1 billion colors” and 64 times the colors available on mainstream LCDs.” It was designed in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation and comes with the HP DreamColor engine software and calibration kit for about $3,499. HP introduced their new gadgets. The HP Touchsmart IQ506 and 504 Touch PC feature 22 inch Touch-display HP touch interface, NVIDIA 9300 M GS graphic card and NTSC/ATSC TV Tuner. The gadgets also come with a wireless mouse and keyboard. Weighing 24Lbs, the HP Touchsmart IQ506 and 504 Touch PC are priced at between $1299 to 1499. [UberGizmo]
HP/Voodoo has unveiled the Voodoo Envy 133 which is only 0.7 inch thick. The desktop replacement features 13.3 inch LCD display, a fast processor, an SDD drive, WiFi N (100+ Mbps), and has an instant-on OS (probably linux-based) that can boot in a snap to let you access the web and other basic applications. The HP2133 MiNi notebook is now available in Korea. The laptop features a 8.9-inch diagonal WXGA display, full QWERTY keyboard and anodized aluminum shell. Weighing 1.19kg, this portable gadget also supports 802.11a/b/g wireless technology, a clear coating applied over the notebook keyboard, and HP 3D DriveGuard which sends a signal to shut down the hard drive upon sudden movement or shock. The 2133 XP Mini Note by HP now has a price. The 1.2GHz rig with 1GB of RAM and a 120GB disk goes for $729, while the upgrade of 1.6GHz, 2GB of RAM and a 160GB disk goes for about $819. Expect to see both on shelves next week. [Engadget via Laptop Blog ]
HP has announced that they will be upgrading two new desktop computers known as the xw8600 and the xw9400. The xw8600 comes with up to two Quad-Core Intel Xeon X5482 processors and the xw9400 runs on Quad-Core AMD Opteron 2300 processors. No word on pricing for both of these, but with all these fancy features in should be about $4,000 and above. [HP]
Hewlett-Packard has officially released the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC, 8.9-inch ultraportable laptop. Priced at around $500, this Asus Eee-PC competitor comes jam packed with VIA C7-M ULV processor (1GHz to 1.6GHz), Chrome 9 integrated graphics, and supports up to 2GB of DDR2 667MHz main memory. Other features include a 8.9″ 1280 x 768 LCD display, and up to 160GB of hard drive storage. There is an optional 64GB solid-state drive or 4GB Flash drive, an optional web camera, built-in stereo speakers and microphones, the Broadcom 802.11a/b/g or b/g wireless module, optional Bluetooth 2.0, a Gigabit Ethernet connection, two USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, Secure Digital (SD) slot, and a VGA output. Its battery provides up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of battery life with the standard 3-cell battery, and 4 hours and 11 minutes with the 6-cell extended life battery.
