Microsoft showcased HTC Touch 3G smartphone at CTIA 2007. The gadget is powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional. The mobile phone has a 2.8-inch QVGA screen, microSD card slot with an included 1GB card and 2M camera, supports 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth connection and instant access to Sprint Music Store. The HTC Touch will be released in US market in November.

HTC has recently unveiled the details about the HTC S640 CDMA handset. The gadget runs on Windows Mobile 6 Pro and is powered by 400Mhz Qualcomm CPU with 128MB RAM. Other features include 2.8 inch QVGA (320×240 display), CDMA, 2MP shooter with auto-focus, and 3G EVDO. No info on pricing or availability yet.

HTC unveiled the new HT1100 3G smartphone at CEATEC 2007. The phone measures 16.5mm thickness and sports World Wing, the NTT Docomo international roaming service. No word on pricing and availability yet.

That’s right! The HTC TyTN II has already experienced a price cut. Devicewire from UK has dropped the price to around $920 (£456.99). They’re taking international orders too, so for those of you who aren’t living in the UK can still buy this smartphone at a discounted price.

The HTC’s executive director for Middle East and North Africa confirmed that four upcoming smartphones to be announced in September. New HTC smartphones will be announced during the upcoming GITEX Technology event in Dubai starting from 8th September. Four models will be presented including the HTC Nike and HTC TyTN II.

HTC has released 500 units of HTC Touch in wasabi green color for the Taiwan market. FYI, the handset supports TouchFLO, a 3-D user interface that allows users to move through on-screen options by sweeping their fingers across the screen, or scrolling up and down using a fingertip. Qwest is the first American carrier to adopt the HTC S720, a QWERTY slider phone which originally came to North America via Canada’s Telus. The HTC S7220 (or the Fusion 5800) features Windows Mobile 6 operating system, a microSD slot, and a 2MP shooter. The handset also sports stereo Bluetooth, allowing wireless music uses. The phone is currently available for $200, with data plans running from $20 a month for 35MB to $40 for 100MB.

Looks like Google is working with Taiwan’s High Tech Computer (HTC) Corp to steal iPhone’s crown from Apple. Google is choosing HTC because its track record with a large number of Microsoft Windows powered devices over the years, and their great speced hardware. The Wall Street Journals reported that Google has spent hundreds of millions of dollars in this project and has courted US and European mobile operators to launch in Q1 2008. It’s really about time for open-source technology to own the market, talking about end-user freedom from a company that “does no evil”.
