Iomega today released the new Mac Companion Hard Drive. Available in 2TB or 3TB of storage capacity, this storage device features a high-powered 2.1 Amp USB charging port designed specifically for charging iPad, iPhone, or iPod. The Iomega Mac Companion Hard Drive utilizes a fast 7200 RPM 3.5-inch hard drive formatted HFS+ for compatibility with Mac computers right out of the box. Iomega has rolled out its latest external USB 3.0 SSD (Solid state Drive) flash disk that is designed for both professionals and storage enthusiasts. Iomega is set drop its new line of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 portable hard drives called the eGo. Coming in both 500GB and 1TB capacities, these 2.5-inch drives are equipped with a USB 3.0/2.0 interface, a built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption and come bundled with the Iomega Protection Suite Software that includes Iomega’s QuikProtect, v.Clone and Trend Micro’s Internet Security programs. The USB 2.0-powered Iomega Skin provides a 500GB of storage capacity and Iomega’s Drop Guard technology that can protect the drive and its data from drops of up to 51-inch onto a relatively hard surface. The range is made up of the Radical with a retro Skin-branded printed logo design on a black top with a vibrant yellow base, the Red Hot with a Skin Swipe logo printing on a red top with a black base, and the Gothic-themed Knock Out with a silver top with a black base. The new StorCenter ix2-200 NAS from Iomega features dual bays that can be set up in Raid 1 and supports a range of storage sizes including 1TB, 2TB and 4TB. The device has Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and supports for Windows Active Directory and Time Machine, remote access, iSCSI block-level access, and a QuikTransfer button for easy copying of selected files. Iomega, an EMC company and a global leader in data protection, today announced the worldwide availability of new generation of the exciting Iomega eGo portable hard drive. The device is currently available in four colors with up to 500GB capacity. The 500GB model retails for $135, meanwhile the 250GB is priced at $85. Iomega’s Home Media Network Hard Drive has been released. What makes this small network attached storage cool is that it can stream multimedia content to DLNA devices including Sony PlayStation, and some HDTVs. You can easily backup data with Retrospect, a known software from Iomega’s parent company EMC. The Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive can also serve as a USB printer server via USB port.
