
Amazon UK claims that Dec 1st, 2007 as a release date for the Apple iPhone. The 8GB iPhone will be available in the UK for £330, the equivalent of $660. It sounds worse than it is in terms of price, at least to the British, who benefited from a weak dollar exchange rate. Either way it’s sure to sell.

Apple has launched the iPod Reset Utility 1.0.2, which can be used to restore 1st and 2nd generation Apple iPod shuffles back to their original factory settings. This software is a free download from Apple’s support website and is available for Mac and PC. Warning: All music and data on the iPod will be erased during the restore process.

Corega Japan has offered the CG-IPSPDC02 docking station for Apple iPod Shuffle. It has built in speakers that deliver an output of 0.5W x 2 ch. With the USB terminal you connect it to a PC and transfer files to the Shuffle. Available in five colors to match the iPod Shuffle, the unit is powered by 2 x AA batteries. The Corega CG-IPSPDC02 measures 100mm × 22mm × 40mm and weighs 50 grams. It will be available later this month for approx. $30.

JVC’s latest home theater in a box (HTIB), the TH-L1, is now available. What makes the TH-L1 apart from your typical HTIB is that it has both component and HDMI switching (1080p capable, but not HDMI 1.3) and an Apple iPod interface. The system consists of five speakers, a subwoofer, DTS and Dolby Digital decoding, and an array of inputs on the front and back. JVC’s TH-L1 is priced at $299.

iHome’s iH10 features a built-in iPod dock, AM/FM tuners, and a line-in jack on the back. The wooden cabinet houses a 3.5-inch speaker. The iH10 from iHome will be out this summer for $49.

Incase has recently released two new Folio cases for fifth generation Apple iPods. The first one is the Incase Nylon Folio that provides a black patterned nylon outer, an orange suede-lined iPod compartment, a slim pocket for small items like credit cards, and integrated iPod screen and Click Wheel covers. The case sells for $29.95. The second product is the Incase Leather Folio, which comes with a white icosahedron water molecule pattern on the upper flap of the blue leather outer, and a slim pocket, patterned tan suede-lined interior, and functional screen and Click Wheel covers. This leather case retails for $40. Both cases compatible with 30, 60, and 80GB fifth-generation Apple iPods.

Mondo Systems unveiled the Mondo Mint, which is “a new wireless music system consisting of a mini Class-D digital amplifier, two bookshelf speakers, a remote control, and a wireless dock designed to remotely stream music from an iPod up to 100 feet away.” The Mondo Mint system will be available next month for $349.

Elecom Japan has announced the AVD-CHLA5BK and AVD-CHLANN2BK iPod stands for car. The AVD-CHLA5BK is compatible with with iPod Video and iPod Mini, while the AVD-CHLANN2BK works with iPod Nano. The Elecom iPod stands will go on sale in Japan by end of May for approx. $20 (after conversion).
