
Lenovo has introduced the successor to its ThinkPad T400 notebook series in the form of the ThinkPad T400s. This new business laptop measures only 0.83-inches thick and features a 14.1-inch WXGA LED LCD, a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SP9400 processor, an Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card, a 2GB RAM, a 120GB Low Halogen HDD, a 2MP webcam, a multi-touch pad, an optional DVD burner or Blu-ray player, an ExpressCard slot, Windows Vista Business OS and a 6-cell battery. Toshiba will be releasing a new laptop called the G55 next month for $1,550. The G55 features an 18.4-inch (1680 x 945) display, Centrino 2 CPU, GeForce 9600M GT, 4GB of RAM, dual drives, and the “Quad Core HD processor†powering many media functions including the camera-based visual gesture control system. The visual gesture system enables users to use their hands to communicate any number of functions for the laptop. So if miming is your thing, you may want to consider this laptop. Alienware will be releasing the m17x gaming laptop with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, twin GPUs for great SLI action, a WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) display, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, lots of hard drive space, a dual-layer DVD writer (or optional Blu-ray burner), several ports and a 12-cell battery that lasts about an hour. MSI will be launching their Wind laptop pretty soon. The Wind offers an XP system, LED-backlit, 8.9- and 10-inch 1,024 x 600 displays, 80GB, 2.5-inch hard disk, as well as a superior keyboard and battery life.
