Acer Refresh Its Aspire And Ferrari Series Laptops

Acer has recently updated its notebook line with the Aspire 7720G and the 2920, and the Ferrari 1100. The top-end 7720G is a $3,000 laptop with a 17-inch screen, ATI Mobility Radeon HD2300 graphics card, and running a 2.2GHz Santa Rosa chip. The Aspire 2920 is a 12.1-inch model, featuring Core 2 Duo CPUs, and Intel GMA X310 graphics. The last one is the Ferrari 1100, featuring another 12.1-inch screen, a 2.3GHz Turion 64 X2 TL-66 processor, LED backlighting, and the usual Ferrari styling.

Slim Aluminum MacBooks Coming Soon

9to5mac has reported that Apple is ready to update its Macbook with a new enclosure. The new enclosures come in both Black and Silver aluminum variants and “considerably slimmer” than the current MacBook and a bit slimmer than the current MacBook Pros. The enclosures are also have a thinner border around the LCDs, and the keyboards resemble the new Bluetooth keyboard. In addition, the MacBook was last updated on May 15, 2007.

Sony New Business-minded VAIO BX51 Laptop

Sony has recently introduced another update to its BX Series, which adopts Santa Rosa platform.The BX51 comes jam packed with a 15.4-inch 1280 x 800 “X-black” display, a 2GHz T7250 Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, and the usual range of Santa Rosa-related features. You will also be able to get your choice of Windows XP Professional, which comes standard on the VGN-BX51XP model, or Windows Vista Business, which comes pre-installed on the VGN-BX51VN model. Additionally, the Sony VGN-BX51VN also adds built-in Bluetooth, a 1.3MP “Motion Eye” webcam, and a larger 160GB hard drive. These laptops will be available in Europe by the end of the month for around $1,600 to $1,880 depending on the configuration.

OQO has upgraded the Model 02 Ultra UMPC with a speedy 1.6GHz processor and the choice between a 120GB hard drive or a 32GB SSD. The WWAN in the Model 02 Ultra has also been upgraded to 1.4Mbps EV-DO Rev, and all this despite the entry level price drop to $1,299 from $1,499. This updated 02 are currently on sale in the UK from resellers like Expansys.

LG has introduced its new XNOTE E200 notebook PC in the Korea market. The laptop comes jam packed with a 12 inch LCD screen, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and hybrid hard disk drive that supports improved program running and booting speed. It also adopts 1GB memory, 120GB hard disk (hybrid 256MB), ATI Radeon X1250 graphic card, 1.3MP Smart Cam, three USB ports and HDMI port. The LG XNOTE E200 Series laptop retails between $1,490 and $1600. No word on the availability so far.

Known as the m-Book P550, this laptop has a 15.4 inch monitor rocking a 1280×800 WXGA resolution and a GeForce 8600GS. This notebook PC also adopts 1GB RAM, DVD burner, a/b/g WiFi and 1GB of ReadyBoost. The m-Book P550 retails for between $1,220 to $1,500.
