
Toshiba has exclusively launched the Dynabook Satellite TXW/67JW on its e-Store. The notebook is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2.53GHz CPU with an Intel GM45 Express chipset, a 4GB RAM, a 16-inch 1,366 x 768 resolution LCD display, a 320GB hard drive, a DVD Super Multi drive, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Toshiba’s 12.1-inch Dynabook SS RX2/WAJ is the first laptop in the world that features a 512GB SSD. Measuring only 19.5 – 25.5mm thick and weighing at 1.1-kg(less than 2.5-pounds), the laptop comes equipped with a Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU, and a battery that lasts up to 12-hours of operating time. Asus comes back with three new members of its designer U series laptop that looks like the Apple MacBook Air. The 12-inch U20A, 13.3-inch UX30 and 15.6-inch UX50V are all based on Intel’s Consumer Ultra Low Voltage (CULV), ranging from the entry 1.2GHz Celeron M in the U20A to the 1.3GHz Pentium, 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo and 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo in the UX30 and UX50V. The thinnest model is the UX30 that measures 0.9-inch thick and weights at only 3.5 pounds (without a DVD burner). All models feature 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LED-backlit screen, up to 500GB HDD, and up to 4GB of RAM. MSI has announced the MSI GX633 gaming laptop that comes equipped with the GeForce GT130M 3D graphic card, which is a mid-range GPU. This 15.4-inch laptop uses the AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile CPU with up to 4GB of RAM, a maximum of 500GB hard drive, and all the usual modern features like 802.11n WiFi, built-in Bluetooth, and a 2MP webcam. The GX633 can be plugged on a big display via VGA or HDMI. MSI’s ECO Engine allows you easily switch between a gaming mode and more energy-efficient options. No word on pricing so far. MSI is set to release a new ultra slim 14-inch notebook in the form of the MSI X400. This Apple MacBook Air competitor will likely be built around the Intel CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) chipset. But, there is no further info about this new X-Slim notebook model. We hope that MSI will release an official specifications sheet in time for 2009 Computex in Taipei, Taiwan. Asus comes back with a new F6V series notebook that will make your office smells great all the time thanks to its infused scent feature. The infused scent comes in two different flavors: “musky black” and “morning dew’. Dell has released more art choices for its Studio notebooks. Buyers of 15- and 17-inch models can now choose more than 120 designs, for a total of over 200. The art is divided into some categories including artists, patterns and plain colors, and a special (PRODUCT) Red series. Some artists involved in producing the new designs include Filth, OBVLN, Deanne Cheuk, Maya Hayuk and Korakrit Arunanondchai. HP Korea just launched its new HP EliteBook 6930p with up to 24 hours of battery life. Weighing at only 2.1-kilograms, the laptop features a 14.1-inch diagonal widescreen display and is available with an optional mercury-free Illumi-Lite LED display. What makes this notebook more special is that it is also designed to match the MIL-STD 810F military standards of operation at extreme temperatures, vibration and moisture. Asustek just launched the new Asus P80 14-inch business laptop with Intel’s new Anti-Theft technology that enables users the ability to shut down the stolen laptop remotely. Weighing 5.3-pounds(with 6 cell battery), the laptop is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo or Pentium CPU, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner. There are three variants including the Asus P80A, P80Q, and P80Vc that come with the Intel GMA X4500MHD (with HD decoder), X4500M integrated graphics, and an nVidia GeForce 9300M GS 512MB dedicated GPU, respectively.
