
MITSUBISHI has unveiled its new eco-friendly LCD monitor ‘Diamodcrysta WIDE Series’ for the Japanese market. This new 20-inch LCD monitor is an energy efficient display, reducing power consumption up to 10W, and it supports 5000:1 contrast ratio. Acer comes back with a couple of new LCD displays in the form of the 21.5 inch H223HQbmid and the 24 inch H243Hbmid. Both models offer 1,920 x 1,080, HDMI port, and are able to be used as full HD displays for your entertainment needs. How lucky to be Americans because Sharp has decided to launch the D65U series of LCD HDTV statesides in October 2008. The LCD TV offers a native resolution of 1080p, Energy Star-compliant, active backlight and contrast controls and 176-degrees viewing angle. There are also a total of five HDMI ports, two composite inputs, one S-video, and PC-in. The monitor also adopts Sharp’s Advanced Super View and Black TFT Panel technologies. The Sharp Aquos D65U LCD TVs are priced at between $1600 to $2400, depending on the screen’s size. [Newlaunches]

Acer today introduced its G24 gaming monitor that features 50,000:1 ACM contrast and 2ms quick response time. This 24-inch 1920×1200 widescreen is suitable for true 1080p playback. Other features include Acer CrystalBrite technology, 400-nit brightness, 160/160 viewing angle, multimedia connectivity, Acer eColor and eDisplay technologies and intuitive onscreen display controls. Pandigital’s Kitchen HDTV is a combination of a digital photo frame and an HD television. This 15inch screen has the ability to display your recipes as you cook in HD quality (1,280 by 720-pixel resolution). It supports ATSC and NTSC, and can be connected to video feeds using composite, S-Video, YPbPr, or HDMI connections. The unit can display images from its built-in 512 MB memory, a card reader or downloaded from Google’s Picassa photo-sharing service. Good news for Korean. BTC has decided to release its new 15-inch dual monitor in Korea. The BTC 150DS is specially designed for needs of customer service business. The monitor sports PIP(Picture in Picture) function, 16ms response speed, 450:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m² brightness level, 100/130 viewing angle, 2W x 2W built-in stereo speakers, a couple of USB 2.0 ports and one DVI input.

Dell has decided to launch the E248WFP 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor in the US market. The LCD screen offers “higher definition than HD Television” and comes equipped with an integrated DVI-D with HDCP connection. The monitor has 1920 x 1200 native resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, a fast 5ms response time, 160 degrees viewing angle, and 400 cd/m2 brightness. It also provides 92% color gamut. FYI, color gamut refers to how many colors the display can accurately represent. The Dell E248WFP is now available for $469.

The Toshiba wizards have come up with a new 22 inch LCD with 3,840 x 2,400 resolution (also known as WQUXGA). There is no word on when they will release this super high definition screen into the market, but it will retail for a hefty $18,000.

Samsung has released the SyncMaster 942BW 19-inch widescreen LCD display, which features 1440 x 900 resolution, 500:1 contrast, 5ms response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and 16:10 aspect ratio. The LCD screen retails for $250.
