
Good news for folks who are living in Japan because Asus has announced the availability of its Asus MS236H 23-inch LCD display in that country. The Asus MS236H (Designo MS) provides a Full HD resolution (1920×1080) with a 250 cd/m2 brightness level, a 2ms response time, and a 50000:1 active contrast ratio. South Korea’s LG Electronics has confirmed that they will launch a 15-inch television set using organic display technology next month, the largest commercial model so far. This active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AM-OLED) display provides better picture quality and consumes less power. It is also thinner than widely used liquid crystal displays (LCD) that need backlight units. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing so far. [Reuters]

Philips has rolled out its new LCD display with a built-in infrared presence sensor. Known as the Philips Brilliance, the LCD monitor adopts “PowerSensor” technology, which can detect whether you’re sat in front of it or not and adjust brightness accordingly. If you get up from your chair and move away from the monitor, the brightness will immediately dim to reduce power consumption by 50%. Acer today launched two desktops and one LCD display. The new Aspire M5800 tower comes jam packed with a 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad CPU with a 8GB of RAM, a 1.5GB GeForce GT230 graphics, a 740GB drive and a HDMI out for $800. Meanwhile, the Aspire M3800 and X3810 feature a 2.5GHz Pentium with an integrated X4500 graphics and a HDMI out. The Aspire M3800 and X3810 retails for $450 in a tower or $529 in a low-profile case. LG has plan to release its first 3D LCD, the 47-inch 47LH50, in South Korea next month. The 3D LCD allows you to enjoy 3D effects without the need of PC with additional 3D video cards. You just need to wear the polarized light eye-glasses. No word on pricing so far. [Gizmodo]

The LG will release the LED Blu display that was debuted at CES 2009. Measuring at only 20mm thin, this 24-inch LED backlight LCD monitor will come with Full HD support at 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a fast 2ms response time. NEC has released two new LCD displays in the US, which is known as the LCD2490WUXi2 and LCD2490W2. These 24-inch LCD screens support IPS panels that produce superior images compared to PVA or TN screens. These LCD displays also provides approximately 96.7% coverage of the sRGB color space that is perfect for pro-level image editing. Korean manufacturer LG has started to produce the 17.1 inch LCD panels for notebooks that adopts RGB LED backlight technology. The screen uses LED as its backlight to achieve a color reproduction rate of up to 105%, which has 40% more colors and 30% better contrast ratio compared to standard CCFL models.
