
LG has decided to release its W2442PA-BF 24 inch LCD monitor that comes jam packed with 300cd/m2 brightness level, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, Dynamic contraste feature, 2ms response time, 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios supported, 160 to 170 degrees viewing angle, 1 watt speakers, HDMI, DVI-D ports, and VGA port. Designer Mac Funamizu knows that 3D display screens are expensive, so he manages to create a new 3D LCD concept in the form of the “Double Pane LCD Screen”. It is actually a dual layered LCD that creates a sense of depth when graphics are overlayed. This technology could be applied to display interactive maps on cell phones or GPS navigation system. NEC USA has unveiled its New MultiSync P Series 22-Inch Widescreen Desktop LCD for professional use. Dubbed as the NEC P221W, the LCD monitor boasts a max resolution of 1,680×1,050, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, a brightness of 300cd/m², a response time of 16ms. The LCD screen will offers a high quality pictures thanks to the S-PVA LCD technology, the XtraView+ viewing angle, and the AmbiBright automatic brightness adjustment. Mitsubishi’s new Full HD LCD screen comes equipped with a built-in digital TV tuner. The Mitsubishi MDT221WTF is actually the first HD LCD monitor in Japan to integrate a digital tuner TV. This 21.5 inch LCD monitor features a resolution of 1920×1080, two HDMI ports, DVI-D, Composite and Analog RGB interface, and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1, a brightness of 300cd/m², and a response time of 5ms. BenQ will launch their M2400HD 24-Inch LCD screen on November 1st, 2008. The LCD monitor offers 1920×1080 resolution, a brightness is 300cd/m², a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (with a DCR of 10,000:1), a response time of 5ms, AMA (Advanced Motion Accelerator) and Senseye Technology. Samsung makes us busy with their new 22 inch LCD monitor. Dubbed as the CX-2233GW, the LCD screen features a 1,680 x 1,050 resolution, a 300cd/m2 brightness, a fast 5ms response time and a DVI HDCP port. The kewl factor for this monitor is that it provides a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, which is capable of being boosted to 20,000:1. Sharp has decided to launch its 108 inch LCD display for the middle-east at Gitex 2008 in Dubai. This huge LCD screen has been unveiled at at CES. As a reminder, this 1080p (1920×1080) display has a fan-less design that reduces the intake of dust from the outside and is perfect for middle east dusty weather. This display is also made in an uber-green facility in Kameyama, Japan. The Sharp 108-inch LCD Display is priced at $150,000. [Al Bawaba]

LG comes back with an LCD prototype that can also be read by those sitting clear over on the back side. LG’s new double-sided LCD shows the same image on both sides in 512 x 384 resolution and 14:1 contrast ratio. [TechOn]

Nanovision of Korea has released a new 7 inch mini-widescreen display that features a 800 x 480 resolution and can be rotated to view the image in either landscape or portrait modes. The monitor connects to your PC via USB 2.0 port. The Nanovision UM-710 model is the entry level version while the UM-750 comes with touch screen capability, an integrated webcam and DMB TV tuner. The UM-710 and UM-750 are currently available in Korea for $78 and $147, respectively. [technabob]

The LED Cinema Display connects to your new MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air via the ultra-compact Mini DisplayPort connector, so you can say good bye to the old DVI or VGA connectors. This high-end LED screen also comes with a MagSafe connector, which is able to power and charge your new MacBooks. Other features include the self-powered USB ports, the built-in iSight camera, microphone, and speakers.
Let’s talk about the advantages of LED technology.
