Philips has decided to launch its Philips 56 inch LCD in the UK on June 6th, 2009. The LCD screen boasts an unbelievable 21:9 image ratio with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,080 pixels, 80000:1 contrast ratio, and response speed of 1ms with Philips’s Perfect Natural Motion technology. This high-end TV also provides 5 HDMI ports, Ethernet port, Wi-Fi. It can access Youtube, Ebay, etc and has support for DLNA. The LCD will be available for $5050. [Newlaunches]
The latest Allio LCD TV PC from Silicon Mountain will be powered by the Intel Atom processor. The TV boasts both 1080p and 720p resolution for the 42 inch and 32 inch models, respectively. Other features include a 250GB hard drive, a 2GB RAM, DVD drive, and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS. The 42 inch model retails for $1,599, meanwhile the 32 inch version is priced at $1,299. UK blokes can now purchase the 11-inch Bravia XEL-1 TV from Sony. Measuring only as thick as three stacked credit cards, the LCD TV has a contrast ratio of 1 million to one, because pixels can be turned off completely for a near-perfect black. The Bravia XEL-1 TV is priced at £3,489. [ShinyShiny]
The Westinghouse SK-32H570D is an LCD TV that comes with an integrated DVD player. The 32 inch LCD screen features two HDMI inputs, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 178 degrees viewing angle, 6.5ms response time, and 1,200:1 contrast ratio. Priced at $579, the SK-32H570D also supports ATSC/NTSC/ClearQAM tuner with HD programming, and 720p and 1080i resolutions. [Electronista]
Sharp today rolled out AQUOS DX series, which is known as the first LCD TVs with built-in Blu Ray Disc Recorders in the world. The series consists of 16 new models from 26-Inch to 52-Inch screen sizes. All models are compatible with BD-RE V2.1 (Single / Dual layer), BD-R 1.1 (Single / Dual Layer) recordable disc, and most of available playable disc. These HDTVs also feature Digital W Tuner, that allows you to watch TV while you are recording your favorite programs. Its Kameyama LCD Panel provides smooth picture quality. Sharp has showed off the new LED-backlit 52-inch LCD TV at CEATEC 2008. The LCD TV comes with solar floor panel which presumably provides at least some of the energy required to power the screen. I think Sharp will make more eco-friendly gadgets in the near future. Good job! [AVING]
We didn’t go to CEATEC 2008, but those who did spotted this 15mm thin 37-inch HDTV from Hitachi. While details are blurry, this 1,920 x 1,080 panel comes with a nicely designed stand and rumored to be in production sometime in 2009. Kinda makes our bedroom LCD TV look fat and overweight heh. [Engadget]
Philips has released its new Flavors line of LCD TVs with the interchangeable frames that are available in 22 inch, 32 inch and 42 inch. The 42 inch variant offers Full HD resolution (1080p), 30,000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 500cd/m2 brightness and two HDMI ports. The 22 inch, 32 inch and 42 inch models are priced at €549, €799 and €1,199, respectively. Each purchase of these new Flavors line of LCD TVs also comes with two interchangeable frames. Philips is famous for their LCD TV series. Here is the new addition to the Essence LCD TV series. Known as the 42PES0001, this ultra-thin 42 inch LCD TV comes with several cool specification including 38mm thickness, 66,000:1 contrast ratio, 100Hz clear LCD technology, 2ms refresh rate, three HDMI ports and a DLNA PC link connector. Some dudes at AVING provide us with a preview video of the new Sharp AQUOS XS1 LCD TV. Sharp has introduced this LCD screen at IFA 2008. Measuring 23mm thick, the Sharp AQUOS XS1 LCD TV offers 1080p resolution and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1. It is currently available in 65-inch and 52-inch sizes. [AVING] Read more
