Sony has announced the BRAVIA HX850 LED LCD HDTV. Available in 46-inch and 55-inch, the BRAVIA HX850 features a 1080p full HD resolution in both 2D and 3D, a frameless Monolithinc Design with Corning Gorilla Glass for durability and a 240Hz refresh rate to reduce the blurring caused during high-speed action and sports sequences. Additional specs include a built-in WiFi, Skype Video compatibility and an access to the Sony Entertainment Network. No word yet on pricing or availability. [Gizmodo]

Sharp has recently dropped two new AQUOS LCD HDTVs for the mass market by launching the 60-inch LC-60E77UN and 65-inch LC-65E77UM. These HDTVs utilize Sharp’s Advanced Super View (ASV) Superlucent Panel for delivering a dramatically bright and crisp picture with reduced haze and reflectivity. On top of that, they also provide 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 4ms response time and 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of connectivity ports, both HDTVs offer four HDMI, two component video, PC input and RS-232. Sharp has showed off their latest LCD HDTV ‘LC-60E88UN’ at CES 2010. This new 60-inch HDTV utilizes Sharp’s X-Gen panel with a 240Hz Fine Motion Advanced technology enabling a superior picture for fast-moving entertainment content like movies and sports. In addition, it’s also compliant with ENERGY STAR Version 4.0 standards and features a range of connectivity ports including four HDMI, component, S-video and RS-232C. AOC is preparing to release two new LCD HDTV monitors to its range in the form of the 21.6-inch 2290Fwt and 23.6-inch 2490Fwt. These monitors feature a TN panel with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 5ms response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 10000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a built-in TV tuner supporting PAL, SECAM and DVB-T signals. They also offer several connectivity ports including D-Sub, HDMI 1.3, SCART, S-Video, Composite and Component. LG has announced the availability of its latest LCD HDTV ‘SL8000 Borderless’ in Russia. Unlike conventional LCD TVs, the SL8000 features a unique single-layer screen, in which the TV screen and frame are in one piece, making it borderless. On top of that, this new HDTV also provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 150,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 2ms response time. Other advanced technologies worth mentioning include LG’s TruMotion 200GHz for reducing the blur of moving objects, Smart Energy Saving Plus for reducing electricity consumption and Intelligent Sensor for automatically adjusting the image and the intensity of the backlight under the lighting conditions. BenQ comes back to the HDTV market by releasing their latest 42-inch Full HD 1080p HDTV. Known as the SQ4242, the HDTV supports 1920 x 1080 resolution, 24p Real movie player mode, MPEG noise reduction and SRS TruSurround XT surround sound. The SQ4242 also has three HDMI inputs and produces 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 5,000:1 true contrast ratio. [BenQ]
Samsung has announced two new LCD HDTV monitors to its range by releasing the 19-inch 933HD+ (1360 x 768) and 23-inch 2333HD (1920 x 1080). Both monitors provide 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 16: 9 aspect ratio, 5ms response time, Dolby Digital support (2333HD) and come with an integrated digital TV tuner.
