Pioneer will be releasing some 1080p LCD monitors. They both come with an Optimum Mode, which “simultaneously monitors video and room light conditions” and then makes the most appropriate adjustments based on what it senses, and “industry leading” calibration features. The 50-inch PRO-111FD ($5,000) and PRO-151FD ($6,500) feature a two year warranty. The Signature Series PRO-101FD (50-inch) / PRO-141FD (60-inch) units will be available in October and August for unknown prices. [Engadget]
Acer will be releasing a bunch of LCD displays. The first series comes in 17- and 19-inch 4:3 displays known as the V173 and V193 as well as the 19-, 22-, and 24-inch 16:10 displays called the V193W, V223W, and V243W. All of them feature 5 ms response times, 2,000:1 or 3,000:1 contrast ratios, VGA and DVI , HDCP) ports. If you’re looking for a business model then the B-series has 17- and 19-inch 4:3 models called the B173 and B193 and 19-, 20-, 22-, and 24-inch models called the B193W, B203W, B223W, and B243W. Dao of Korea is releasing the 22-inch LCD model of the Matrix Neo series called the Matrix Neo-220W. It has support for a 1680×1050 resolution, 7,000:1 contrast ratio, 300cd/㎡ brightness and 5ms response speed with a tilt and swivel function, built-in speakers and 160-degree viewing angle. Korea wants 259,000(KRW) for this monitor. [AVING]
Hitachi will be launching their 1.5 UltraThin LCD HDTVs in 32-, 37-, 42- and 47-inch versions.The X-Series comes with a 2-year warranty with a price range from $1,999 to $4,699, while the V-series has a 1-year warranty and prices from about $1,799 to $4,499. The UT47X902, UT47V702, UT32A302/W, UT32V502/W, UT42V702 and UT37V702 might be available from July to September. [Engadget]
Brionvega’s 19-inch Alpha LCD / DVD combo display features a resolution of 1,280 x 1,024, a 4:3 aspect ratio, a digital DVB-T tuner, a 1,200:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits of brightness, five-millisecond response time, 160-degree viewing angles and ports along with a pair of three-watt stereo speakers and an integrated DVD player that supports VCD, SVCD and MP3 discs. Samsung’s Touch of Color series in TVs and monitors is becoming more popular with the release of 4 monitors. All fourfeature 20,000:1 contrast ratios, MagicColor, MagicBright, and MagicTune. Get the lower-tier 2ms models starting at $259 for the T190 19-incher and the $359 for the T220 22-incher. While the two higher-tier models with HDMI and 5ms refresh for $499 for the T240 24-incher and $599 for the T260 26-incher. Look for all four at the end of July. [Engadget]
Samsung will be dropping their 750 series Touch of Color LCD HDTVs. The 750 ranges from 39.9- to 52-inch sizes, featuring 1080p, 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, DLNA network access and 120Hz motion processing for $2,599 – $3,499 and will be releasing in May. If Ethernet is a concern, then the wireless LinkStick will let you pull down news without having a connection for about $35. [Engadget]
BenQ in Korea is launching a new LCD monitor called the V2400W. It comes with a touchpad OSD with LED backlit, support for 1,920 x 1,200 WUXGA resolution, 4,000:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/㎡ brightness and 5ms response speed. No word on the price or when or if it will be available outside of Korea anytime soon.[AVING]
