ViewSonic today introduced two members from the environmentally-friendly VG36-LED series. Known as the 24-inch VG2436wm-LED and 22-inch VG2236wm-LED, these environmentally-friendly LED monitors feature a slim bezel profile and native 1920×1080 resolution. In addition to Full HD resolution and DVI and VGA connectivity options, both mercury-free monitors also provide an impressive 20,000,000:1 MEGA contrast ratio and built-in stereo speakers for the ultimate viewing experience. Both LED displays also adopt Energy Star and EPEAT Gold certifications. The 22-inch VG2236wm-LED and 24-inch VG2436wm-LED are now available for $229 and $259, respectively. [Viewsonic]
AOC has unveiled a new ultra-slim range of LCD displays that measure only half an inch thick. The AOC Razor display series consists of six models with display sizes ranging from 18-5-inch to 23-inch. These LED displays feature a 16:9 aspect ratio, a high dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1 and a 5 millisecond response time. Another interesting design feature is the ability of the base to fold back 90 degree transforming the base into VESA wall bracket. These displays also come equipped with an analogue D-Sub and/or digital DVI-D port. The AOC Razor display series is now available in Europe. No word on pricing at this time. Read more
The Apple 27-inch LED Cinema Display is finally up for purchase on Apple’s online store. The display features a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, a LED backlighting, and a 178-degree viewing angle. You can connect your LED Cinema Display to any of the current lineup of Mac notebooks and desktop computers such as MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Pro. LG has announced two new wireless HDTVs for the mass market. The LG 55LHX and the LH85 use a media box to transmit uncompressed full 1080p signals with “virtually” no interference directly to the TV. The TV can receive wireless signals from up to 30 feet away. The 55LHX comes equipped with LED backlighting and a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio with 240Hz refresh rate, meanwhile, the LH85 provides an 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The 55LHX will retail for $4799 and the LH85 series will cost for $3,199 for a 55-inch and $2,399 for a 47-inch. [LG]
