
Acer has launched the M2 LED TV Series in Europe. Available in 21.5-inch, 24-inch and 27-inch models, the Acer M2 LED TV Series features a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5ms response time, a dynamic contrast ratio of 12,000,000:1 and a 250 cd/m2 brightness level. The LED TV also provides several connectivity options such as USB 2.0, D-Sub, S-Video, Components, and a pair of HDMI outputs. LG is set to show off a new premium 3D TV that has some nice features at this year’s IFA show. Designed as a flagship 3D TV, the new LG LW980S packs in some of LG’s most advanced technologies including Cinema 3D, which uses a polarized display and the same plastic glasses used in the cinema, instead of expensive and sometimes bulky active-shutter glasses. This 3D TV also features the Nano Full LED lighting, Smart TV functions, and a TruMotion 400Hz refresh rate for smoother video. What’s more, the LG LW980S is known as the world’s first to receive a “Flicker-Free” certification from European quality assurance agencies TUV and Intertek. Panasonic has unveiled the RB3 all-in-one LED TV series. Available in 37-inch and 32-inch models, these LED TVs feature Skype support, Japanese VOD services, a 500GB hard disk drive and a Blu-ray recorder. The Panasonic RB3 series also adopts the company’s 120fps IPS Panel and a new ECO mode, which is able to reduce your TV power consumption up to 28%. Too bad, there is no info on pricing at this time. The Century ME-SW24TV1B 24-inch LED-backlit TV is now available in Japan. Priced at 29,800 Yen ($368), this Full HD LED TV provides a 280cd/m2 brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms response time. Toshiba Europe today introduced the new Toshiba UL863 LED TV series that comes with a face recognition feature. The Toshiba UL863 is able to identify up to four users and automatically selects their personal settings. Via an embedded WLAN interface, the LED TV easily connects wirelessly to the home network and provides access to Toshiba Places, Toshiba’s Web-based content and service platform for laptops and TVs. Additionally, the Toshiba UL863 LED TV series also supports HbbTV, the European standard for providing an open platform that seamlessly combines TV services delivered via broadcast with services delivered via broadband. Samsung has recently introduced its 2011 range of Smart TVs in India including the Samsung D5500, D6000, D7000, D8000 LED TV series and the Samsung D8000 Plasma series. All of these Smart TVs come equipped with Smart Hub, allowing users to watch videos online, browse the internet, search content on the web or on a DLNA connected device and social networking. Available in sizes between 40- to 60-inch, the Samsung LED TV range are starting from Rs. 68,900 ($1,559) to Rs. 400,000 ($9,053). The Samsung 950 Series 3D LED display is now available in the South Korean market. Available in two different versions with the asymmetric 9 Series (27TA950) and 7 Series (27TA750), these 27-inch 3D LED displays adopt the Samsung Ultra Clear Panel technology, Samsung TV Apps and Smart Hub, as well as Connect Share, allowing you to access media via a USB port. Samsung has finally confirmed the availability of the D7000 And D8000 3D LED TVs in the South Korean market. The Samsung D7000 and D8000 are the latest generation of 3D LED TVs that come in a very slim design. Both LED TVs is able to display 3-dimensional contents in full HD resolution with a wider viewing angle, reduced cross-talk and screen flickering. In addition, these LED TVs also support Smart Hub UI that includes a universal search bar, access to Samsung Apps store and support for world’s lightest active shutter glasses. Toshiba has decided to release their latest Power TV series, which is targeted to ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Available in 24-inch (PB1), 32-inch (PC1) or 40-inch (PS1) models, these battery-powered TVs provide its owners with the basic information needs during Typhoon seasons and during blackout. Priced at between $190 to $400, the Toshiba Power TV series comes with a LED panel and an internal battery, which is capable to provide enough juice for up to 2-hour. [Akihabara]
