
Sharp is ready to launch the LED AQUOS R5 Series in Japan later this month. This LED TV features a DBXL/DVD burner, a digital TV tuner, a USB recording, YouTube and Ethernet. Both 26-inch and 32-inch models provide an HD resolution (1366×768), while the 40-inch model has a Full HD resolution (1080p). Available in 26-inch, 32-inch and 40-inch model, the Sharp LED AQUOS R5 Series are priced at 120,000 Yen ($1,499), 140,000 Yen ($1,749) and 180,000 Yen ($2,248). [Akihabara]

Toshiba today rolled out the new Regza Z2 LED series that supports dual core CEVO engine. The 47-inch Regza Z2 47Z2, 42-inch 42Z2 and 37-inch 37Z2 feature an IPS LED-backlight panel, reaching up to 99% of the NTSC color space. The newly developed dual core CEVO engine allows the Toshiba Regza Z2 LED series to include many different video mode such as the Anime mode, Photo mode and Video Game mode. Additional specs include DLNA support, a USB video recording mode and three digital TV tuners, allowing you to record any TV programs. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing at this time. Samsung has decided to release the 22-inch and 26-inch LED TVs in India. Both LED TVs support a full HD support, a high dynamic contrast ratio, Allshare, Anynet, HDMI ports and Touch of Color (ToC) design. In case you didn’t know, the LED LCD TV uses LEDs as their light source that produces better picture quality than a conventional LCD. The power consumption is also reduced by 40% compared to LCD HDTVs and does not use environment harming materials like mercury and lead. Samsung just released three new 240Hz LED TVs, which are competitor to the LG’s 240Hz LH90 LED TVs. Known as the PAVV 8000, 7000 and 6000 series, these TVs are compatible with YouTube, DLNA, and USB 2.0 port to display both photos and DviX videos from USB flash drives. The Samsung PAVV 8000 series will be available in 46- and 55-inch and will be released in May in the USA, Europe and Southeast Asia.
