
South Korea’s LG Electronics has confirmed that they will launch a 15-inch television set using organic display technology next month, the largest commercial model so far. This active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AM-OLED) display provides better picture quality and consumes less power. It is also thinner than widely used liquid crystal displays (LCD) that need backlight units. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing so far. [Reuters]

LG has finally released several official pictures of the highly anticipated 4th Black Label Series (BL40) Chocolate. The handset will come with a 4-inch HD-LCD that supports resolutions of up to 800×345 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The Samsung S9110 is a new touchscreen watch phone that can synchronize with Microsoft Outlook. It is actually a new competitor to the famous LG GD910 watch phone. The Samsung S9110 is also claimed to be the world’s thinnest watch phone so far. Measuring at just 11.98-mm thick, the phone provides a 1.76-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth integration, Voice Recognition, e-mail, speakerphone and a music player. LG today announced the Xnote Mini X120 Levi’s special edition netbook in South Korea. The specs of this special edition X120 are similar with the original model. The 10.1-inch netbook features an Intel Atom N270 CPU, a 1024×600 LCD display, a 160GB HDD, a 1GB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0, Microsoft Windows XP Home OS, and a 6-cell battery. More

The LG XF1 is the company’s first mobile multimedia hard drive that measures at just 20.8mm thick. The device comes with a 500GB of storage capacity and a codec decoder that only reads exclusively FAT32 and NTFS. It means that the XF1 is not compatible with Mac. There are a composite AV output, a mini-USB jack, and a HDMI connector that enables you to stream HD content straight to your HDTV. Supported video formats include AVI, Xvid and the wide range of MPEGs alongside all popular audio codecs. Sadly, the LG XF1 doesn’t support H.264 and MKV codecs. LG is set to launch another 2-in-1 gadget namely the HR400. The HR400 combines a Blu-ray DVD player with a Freeview receiver into one package and features a built-in 160GB hard drive. It can receive over 40 of your choosen channels and allow you to record any of your favourite Freeview TV shows directly onto its hard drive. The Blu-ray itself is 1080p full HD, meaning it will automatically upscale your DVD’s video and audio qualities. Not to mention, the HR400 also comes with YouTube feature, allowing you to stream YouTube videos without even being connected to a computer. LG Japan has recently released a new stylish 23-inch HD LCD monitor for the Japanese market. Known as the M237WS, this new widescreen HD LCD supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and features 16:9 aspect ratio, 5ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness and 160/170 degrees viewing angle. LG Electronics has recently unveiled the LG-SV710 a.k.a. Suit during World IT Show 2009 in South Korea. Measuring 14.7mm-thick, this premium clamshell phone is specially designed for businessmen and comes with a high-gloss blue body, a 3MP shooter with video recording, and five new mobile games. LG has announced a new business-oriented smartphone at CommunicAsia 2009. Dubbed as the GW550, the phone comes in a candybar form-factor and features front-facing QWERTY keyboard, that reminds me of the Nokia E71x. The LG GW550 also has a non-touch-sensitive 2.4-inch display with QVGA resolution, a 3MP camera, stereo speakers, HSDPA 7.2Mbps (HSUPA 2.0Mbps) connectivity and 1300mAh battery.
