The new LG GH22 super multi drive allows users to burn data on a DVD at 22x high speed writing. The burner only needs approx. 4 minutes and 30 seconds to write 4.7GB data. The drive also has a 2MB memory and buffer under run prevention technology for fast and safe data writing. Its Lightscribe feature allows the GH22 to print images and texts on the DVD. The GH22 also supports horizontal and vertical installation. No word on pricing so far. [AVING]
Verbatim has recently rolled out the first color-background 16x LightScribe DVD-R and DVD+R discs in the world. Available in red, orange (eww), yellow, blue and green, these DVDRs adopted LightScribe Media Version 1.2 coating technology on the label side, resulting in enhanced image contrast and faster label printing.These “magic discs” will be released in US in packs of 25, consisting five of each color. Pricing info is still unknown.
