Linutop 4 Linux Nettop

Linutop has recently introduced its fourth generation of Linux nettop, the Linutop 4. The nettop comes jam packed with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, a 2GB of internal flash memory, a Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45), VGA, DVI and five USB 2.0 ports. Measuring at 18.2cm x 20.1cm x 3.6cm and weighing 936 grams, this mini computer also provides a 1GB of RAM, which is expandable up to 2GB. Kiwi PC has rolled out a new desktop PC, which is designed for “Senior Citizens”. Powered by the Linux Ubuntu OS, the computer provides the elderly with an easy way to browse the web, use email and various software applications. The Kiwic PC offers large icons and text, making them easier to view. What’s more, this computer also features a fully customizable “Me Menu”, which is designed to provide users with access to their most viewed websites and programs direct from the computer’s desktop. Redstar Shogo Linux-powered Tablet

Japanese-based gadget manufacturer Redstar has started to receive pre-orders of their own Shogo Linux-powered tablet. The gadget is powered by a Freescale iMX-37 processor, a 10.1-inch (1024 × 600) multi-touch display, a 256MB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity and a 3G support. The Shogo provides a 4GB of internal memory, which is expandable via an SDHC memory card slot. Measuring 268mm x 168mm x 16mm and weighing 800grams, the Redstar Shogo Linux-powered tablet will be released in Japan at around 56,800 Yen ($666). Watch the video after the jump. Read more

PlugComputer 3.0 Tiny Linux PC

Many computer companies are trying to follow in the footsteps of the Mac Mini by creating their own fully capable mini versions of a desktop PC. The latest one that we have spotted is this new PlugComputer 3.0 Tiny Linux PC, an obviously Linux based PC that can run right up there with your normal desktop PC. The main difference here is obviously the size, but also the fact that it runs completely silent. Known as the MSI U135, the netbook comes jam packed with an Intel Atom N450 CPU, a 1GB of RAM, and a 250GB of hard disk drive. Weighing at only 1.1kg, this netbook features an 8.9 inch (WSVGA) LCD with an Atom N270 CPU, 120GB of HDD, 1GB RAM, and WiFi B/G. Cramworks from Japan has released the Bootplug 2, which is a 2GB USB memory stick that comes preloaded with Linux kernel 2.4. The flash drive boots up in only 10 seconds and loads up the kernel, X Window System, LAN, PPP and VPN (PPTP and IPsec), Web browser, Mailer, OpenOffice.org, PDF viewer and a remote desktop client. You don’t see many Linux computers running around, so the Linutop 2 would be many of the few. This Xubuntu-based system runs on top of a 500MHz AMD Geode CPU, has 512MB of RAM, and 1GB of flash memory, basically for applications. The Linutop 2 uses only 8 watts of power and has four USB ports, an ethernet jack, audio outs, and comes with AbiWord, Open Office, and Firefox.
