Apple has officially confirmed the highly anticipated unibody 17 inch MacBook Pro, which is touted as the world’s thinnest and lightest 17-inch laptop. The new MacBook Pro features a 1900 x 1200 LED backlit display with a 700:1 contrast ratio, a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / 6MB L2 cache, 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 memory, Nvidia GeForce 9400M/ Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT / 512MB, 320GB hard drive and slot-loading SuperDrive. According to Apple Insider, the unibody, 17-inch MacBook Pro will be announced at Macworld. This model is expected to have a slim, extended-life, non-removable battery. That’s right! 9to5mac has reported that Apple is ready to update its Macbook with a new enclosure. The new enclosures come in both Black and Silver aluminum variants and “considerably slimmer” than the current MacBook and a bit slimmer than the current MacBook Pros. The enclosures are also have a thinner border around the LCDs, and the keyboards resemble the new Bluetooth keyboard. In addition, the MacBook was last updated on May 15, 2007.

Apple today released AirPort Extreme Update 2007-004 via its Software Pane and on the Web. AirPort Extreme is the perfect wireless solution for home, school, and business. Apple says that this update is “recommended for all Intel-based MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini computers and improves the reliability of AirPort connections.”
