Apple has recently released a new “Get a Mac†commercial video which tells about MacBook as the fastest Windows Vista notebook in the market. Watch the video after the jump.
According to AppleInsider, Apple will release its new 13 inch ultra-portable MacBook at the Macworld Expo and Conference 2008. The laptop will be roughly 50% lighter and slimmer. This new 13 inch MacBook will not feature the CD/ DVD drive, so you will need an portable disk drive if you want to transfer plenty of media from CD/ DVD to this ultra-portable MacBook. The new MacBook will also feature a new 13 inch LCD panels that boast LED backlights and integrated NAND flash drives.
According to rumors, Apple will launch a new version of MacBook laptops in the first half of November after the release of the Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard†operating system later this month. However, there is no confirmation from the firm so far.
FastMac offers a Blu-ray drive that is compatible with Macs including some older machines such as the iBook G4 and the iMac G5, the new 17″ MacBook Pros and Intel-powered Macs. Priced at a hefty $1,000, the drive provides 2x burning.
9to5mac has reported that Apple is ready to update its Macbook with a new enclosure. The new enclosures come in both Black and Silver aluminum variants and “considerably slimmer” than the current MacBook and a bit slimmer than the current MacBook Pros. The enclosures are also have a thinner border around the LCDs, and the keyboards resemble the new Bluetooth keyboard. In addition, the MacBook was last updated on May 15, 2007.
Apple today released AirPort Extreme Update 2007-004 via its Software Pane and on the Web. AirPort Extreme is the perfect wireless solution for home, school, and business. Apple says that this update is “recommended for all Intel-based MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini computers and improves the reliability of AirPort connections.”
MacScoop claims that Apple will release “a notebook that is so small and light that it could redefine the standards of ultra-portable computing.” The new version of Apple notebook is said to feature a 12 inch display, 0.6-0.7 inches thick, and weigh less than 3 pounds. For your info, Apple’s current 15 inch MacBook Pro weighs 5.4lbs with a 1 inch thickness.
CrunchGear has reported that the upcoming Apple MacBooks will be featuring iPhone’s multi touch technology. The feature will be built into the touchpads, allowing you to navigate through your notebook’s files, applications, etc. the same way you can on the iPhone. They also reported a week ago that new Apple MacBooks models are expected to come in October with about half the thickness of current models and made from new plastics/materials.
