
Measuring 132mm x 86mm x 22mm and weighing 104g, the MAL-3525S is the newest addition to Marshal’s portable HDD enclosure line-up. This travel-friendly enclosure features a durable impact-resistant structure, a USB 2.0 connection interface and can house one 2.5-inch SATA HDD. The MAL-3525S will go on sale from February 17th for 1,280 Yen (about $17) in black and white color options. [Marshal]

A new external HDD enclosure is about to enter the market, this time from MARSHAL called the HDD TOWER 4. Codenamed MAL-3035SBKU3, the device comes with a built-in power supply, a cooling fan, a USB 3.0 port, an eSATA port and can house a total of four 3.5-inch SATA HDDs (16GB in total). The HDD TOWER 4 is scheduled to go on sale on January 20th for around 14,800 Yen (about $193). [MARSHAL]

Marshal today introduced the MAL2635S smart hard drive case that features many interesting functionalities. The Marshal MAL2635S is a 3.5-inch SATA/ SATA II external HDD case with LED indicators, allowing users to know the remaining free space on the drive (90%, 70%, 50% or 30%). The device comes with an aluminum body that prevents it from overheating. Measuring 34mm x 206mm x 115mm and weighing 466 grams (without hard drive), the Marshal MAL2635S also supports a power saving mode that activates automatically after the drive has been idle for 10 minutes. Marshal will launch a new multimedia player in the Japanese market on June 26th, 2010. Known as the Marshal MAL-MP01HDB a.k.a. “MEDIA Joker”, the player supports a 3.5-inch hard disk drive, a multi-card reader (SD/SDHC/ MS PRO/ MMC) a couple of USB 2.0 ports, a mini USB port and a HDMI 1.3 port. Measuring 190mm x 175mm x 65mm and weighing 950grams, the MEDIA Joker also supports most of audio ond video file formats such as MPEG-1/2/4, MPEG-4 AVC /H.264, WMV9, XviD, WAV, WMA, MP3, AAC, OGG and FLAC. Each purchase of the Marshal MAL-MP01HDB comes equipped with a remote controller. [Marshal]

Marshal has launched its slim external BD player for the Japanese market. The Marshal MAL BDP02U2 is not an ordinary BD player. It is capable of burning BD-R/RE 1 layer at 2x or 1x for the 2 layers version. It is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000/XP and Vista OS. No word on pricing so far. [Akihabara]

Marshal will be releasing a new case for a 3.5″ SATA HDD. It comes with an ECO mode that stops disc rotation after 5 minutes of inactivity resulting in a power consumption reduction of 71% when the disc is in standby in addition to one USB 2.0 connection. [Akihabara]

Marshal of Japan has just released a dual SATA HDD rack. The rack supports 2.5” and 3.5” HDDs as well as USB 2.0, and gives you RAID 0 setting up to 2 TB. No word on the price, but when it becomes available, it will be at GeekStuff4u. [Akihabara]
