Sony has proudly introduced the new XQD memory card that offers a new level of speed and performance. Toshiba is ready to release the FlashAir, which is claimed to be the world’s first SDHC memory card with a built-in wireless functionality. Sony today launched the latest version of the Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX card with data transfer speeds of up to 50MB/sec. It is 1.6x faster than the previous version of Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX card. The company also claims that the new memory card is quicker than today’s fastest commercially available UHS-I SD cards when used in Sony cameras. The Eye-Fi Mobile X2 is an 8GB SDHC memory card that provides instant uploads anywhere by wirelessly connecting the camera to a mobile device, such as iPhone, iPad or Android. Owners of other Eye-Fi X2 cards will benefit from Eye-Fi’s Direct Mode, scheduled for release later this week, which empowers the cards to establish a direct connection to a mobile device by creating their own Wi-Fi network anywhere.
