
The Mio M300 and M400 GPS navigation systems are now available in the States. Both gadgets provides the maps for all 50 US States and Puerto Rico. Mio has introduced the successor to its Explora K70 GPS phone series with the introduction of Mio Explora K75 that features the company’s new Spirit GPS navigation software. As for the specs itself, this new smartphone offers a 3.5-inch WQVGA display with 400 x 240 resolution, a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A processor, a Qualcomm gpsOne GPS chipset, a 3MP camera, a VGA CMOS secondary camera, a built-in rotation sensor, a microSD card slot, Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3.5G network support. According to rumors, Mio will release the Moov S401 and S501 in the States via Radio Shack sometime in the middle of next month onwards. The Mio S401 features a 4.3-inch display and four million pre-loaded POIs. Meanwhile, the Mio S501 has a 4.7-inch display and 12 million POIs to keep you on track no matter where you are. Mio has unveiled not one but five new GPS navigators at CES 2009. The new gadgets are include Mio Moov S300, S300, S556, and S700. These gadgets supports “Spirit” software platform. The S300 features a 3.5-inch display, text-to-speech and 12 million POIs. The S500 offers a 4.7-inch panel. Meanwhile, the Moov S556 comes with the same 4.7-inch display with Bluetooth and Junction View features. The S700 offers a huge 7-inch display. I am glad to hear that Mio will unveil more details of its Mio Spirit interface at CES 2009. The operating system offers touchscreen features support that allows you to drag interface elements on the display, viewing geotagged photos/ 3D representations landmarks and complex junctions. Other features include a 4.3 inch display, MP3 playback support and voiced street names for your convenience. More details should be available with the formal start of CES on January 8th, 2009. Mio comes back with a new GPS navigation system in the form of the Moov 150. The gadget offers 3.5 inch touchscreen display, SiRFInstantFix II technology, TeleAtlas Maps (updated April 2008) and support for real-time traffic information. This navigation gadget will be released in Spain later this month for 99 Euros. What makes the Moov 150 special is that it can warn drivers of radar detectors. [Navigadget]

The FCC has recently approved of the Mio Moov 380 navigation gadget. The device features a built-in SIM card, a microSD memory card slot, and connection speeds of up to 3G where available. No word on pricing so far. [GpsTrackLog]

Mio is partnering with ATX to make connected GPS devices. ATX will provide the wireless know-how and Mio will combine it in its navigation software followed by the next step for GPS devices: being connected to receive traffic info, real-time updates, gas prices and able to receive an address from a computer with Google Maps. Mio has announced that their Moov 200, 210, 300, and 310 touchscreen GPS models have launched in the US. All models come with SiRFstar III chips (with SiRFInstantFix II technology), pre-loaded maps of the US and Puerto Rico, and real-time traffic reports (for the 310 and 210).
