DivX Mobile Certified LG Viewty Supports DivX Playback

We know that DivX is a widely popular digital media format that allows users to create, share and playback high-quality video content across many platforms and devices. LG Viewty is a new 5.0MP digital camera-phone that support DivX playback. It allows users to easily playback a wide range of DivX files from the PC on the go or output to a TV monitor without converting to another format. Users will also be able to view DivX files from popular online video communities including Stage6.com at ten times the speed of WCDMA through the HSDPA 3.6 high-speed Internet access capability. The camera phone also features 120 fps video recording, unique camera functionality like manual focus, image stabilizer and handwriting. LG Viewty will go on sale from mid-October starting from Europe.

Sony Ericsson W580i Slider Phone

The Sony Ericsson W580i is the company’s latest Walkman phone that sports a 2.0-inch QVGA screen, 2.0MP digital camera, M2 card slot (512MB included), EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, USB connectivity, built-in FM tuner, and “music illumination” effects. Intel iPhone?

Intel showcased some interesting devices at IDF Fall 07. Most people will call this the Intel Phone, or the Intel iPhone. The handset will be powered by Intel’s Moorestown platform (a 45nm processor) and offers integrated graphics, video, and memory controllers, all packed into a single efficient chip. LG has updated its Shine mobile phone with a couple new colors. They decided to make those after studying the demands of the consumers, apparently the Europeans want a Pink version, while the Asians prefer a Gold version. Both handsets will be available soon.

Apple’s chief Steve Jobs has confirmed that there is a 3G phone in the making. When asked why the current model didn’t have 3G, Jobs answered that the 3G chipset would be too much of a drain on the unit’s battery life which promises 8 hours of call time, but said that future models would have the technology.

Nokia Released Business-minded E51 Mobile Phone

The Nokia E51 is a candybar-styled phone that has the ability to “integrate tightly with corporate telephony systems (PBX) through Nokia Mobile Unified Communications solutions.” The handset features a 2 inch 320 x 240 resolution screen, 2MP camera, video streaming / playback with support for H.264 and Real codecs, video calling capability, integrated 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, FM tuner, miniUSB, IrDA, GPRS / EGPRS and HSDPA compatibility, up to 130MB of memory, a microSD expansion slot, quad-band GSM and WCDMA 850/2100 support, and up to 4.4-hours of talk time (or 13 days in standby). The Nokia E51 will be available globally in Q4 for $485 without a contract.
