
Verizon today released its USB760 Micro Modem that offers a maximum download speeds of 600Kbps to 1400Kbps and upload performance of 500Kbps to 800Kbps. It has the internal dual-band antenna with a connector that allows you to connect the device to an optional external antenna for a stronger signal. There is also a microSD memory card slot that makes it a storage solution. Verizon’s USB760 Micro Modem is compatible with EVDO Rev. A, Rev. 0 and 1XRTT standards. You can purchase this gadget at Verizon stores from December 1st onwards for $100 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a two year contract. Verizon also offers a $40 monthly plan that allows 50MB data usage, or 5GB for $60 per month. [Electronista]

Novatel Ovation has just released their new product, the MC760 USB EVDO Modem. It’s claimed to be the world’s smallest USB EVDO modem that you can well, practically carry in your pocket (measuring at two inches and weighing less than an ounce). It supports Windows (Vista, XP, 2000), Mac OS X and Linux systems. Other specs include the on-board GPS with integrated microSD slot with capacity up to 8GB. The iCON 401 wireless USB modem from Nova Media offers worldwide coverage with the upload speeds of up to 5.76Mbps. The wireless modem comes equipped with an integrated antenna in the form of the swivel clip. Each purchase comes bundled with the launch2net connection software that offers connection settings for any wireless provider. Gigabyte Taiwan announced that they have created the world’s first 3.5G GPS/AGPS wireless modem which they are displaying at CeBIT, Germany. Known as the MD800, the data card features a choice of three interfaces including Express card, mini USB, and PCMCIA. The device also sports 3.5G networks capability, GPS and A-GPS. The company also has the MS808 PDA phone which is claimed as the world’s first 3.5G mobile phone that supports for four mobile TV standards, including DVB-T, DVB-H, T-DMB and ISDB-T. [Electronista]

Novatel just released its new Ovation MC930D USB modem. The MC930D will download at rates of 7.2Mbps as well as upload at rates of 2.1Mbps. Setup should be pretty easy because this baby comes with automatic configuration, along with flash memory, and a splitter cable that powers beyond any notebook’s USB port. This modem should drop sometime this month for an unknown price.

Orange has recently released their USB 3G modem that supports every data connection protocol in use on most GSM networks up to HSDPA and is smaller than most PC Cards/USB modems. Orange will give it for free if customers sign up for a data plan. However, it’s available in Europe only.

Sprint and Novatel Wireless are now selling the Novatel Wireless Ovation U727 EV-DO USB modem for $80. The device features GPS location and has an integrated microSD memory card slot(up to 4GB). The USB modem has been optimized for the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, EV-DO Rev.A 3G technology, and backward compatible with prior EV-DO networks.
