Novatel Wireless and Bell have collaborated to release the 4G LTE Novatel Wireless U679 Turbo Stick that provides Bell Mobility customers in LTE coverage areas mobile Internet download speeds as fast as 75 Megabits per second (Mbps). Known as the slimmest 4G LTE USB modem on the market today, the device features an internal MIMO receive antenna. What makes the Novatel U679 Turbo Stick more interesting is that it is also backwards compatible to both Dual Carrier HSPA+ networks (up to 42Mbps) or HSPA+ (up to 21Mbps). The 4G LTE Novatel Wireless U679 Turbo Stick retails for $59.95 on a three year contract, or for $199.95 with no contact. [Engadget]

T-Mobile today introduced a brand new modem in the form of the webConnect Rocket 2.0. The device features a built-in microSDHC storage and a swiveling USB connector, which makes it a snap to fit into the MacBook Air as well as those who work with limited space. The webConnect Rocket 2.0 Modem also supports Mac and Windows platforms. In addition, T-Mobile also plans to launch its first HSPA+ smartphone in a similarly indefinite timeframe. Huawei e398 Triple-mode LTE Modem

Huawei has debuted its E398 modem at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It is the world’s first triple-mode LTE modem compatible with all three major network standards such as LTE, UMTS, and GSM. The modem allows you to enjoy high speed LTE access while switching over to other standards (UMTS or GSM) when LTE access is unavailable. The Huawei E398 will be released in the world’s first LTE/GSM shared network in Sweden operated by Net4Mobility, a joint infrastructure venture between Tele2 Sweden and Telenor Sweden. The device adopts Option’s Zero-CD Plug’n Play Technology allowing users simply insert the device into a computer, install the software and are instantly connected to the Internet. Here is the latest Wi-Fi modem router from Asus in the form of the DSL-N11. This wireless modem features a 300gMbps Wi-Fi 802.11n wireless router and an embedded ADSL2/2+ modem. The DSL-N11 also has the latest Asus EZ UI, a powerful graphical user interface (GUI) for Wi-Fi ADSL products that allows easier router installation and network management. Huawei i-Mo HSPA Modem with WiFi

Huawei have introduced their latest wireless modem, the i-Mo, which will debut at Mobile World Congress next week. The Huawei i-Mo comes in the size of a “small key chain”. The device supports an HSDPA/HSUPA USB modem and a WiFi b/g chip on board for sharing the connection with other devices. You can also use it as removable storage thanks to its microSD slot. Maximum downlink and uplink speeds of 7.2Mbps and 5.76Mbps (network depending) are also supported. The Huawei i-Mo will be released in Q2 2009. No word on pricing at this time. [Slashgear]

Novatel Wireless today released the Ovation MC995D USB modem, the Expedite E970D and E960D embedded mini card modules. These gadgets feature integrated GPS capabilities and access to high-speed HSPA networks, offering 7.2 Mbps down and 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. Both the MC995D and E970D will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Asia using the 900MHz, 1,900MHz and 2,100MHz bands. Meanwhile, the Ovation MC995D will be available in Spring 2009. This USB modem supports EDGE/ GPRS networks and comes with a microSDHC memory card slot. No word on pricing so far. [Novatel Wireless]

The USB 306 and the USB 307 are two new USB modem for HSPA+ networks from Sierra Wireless. These modems sport up to download speeds of 21 megabits per second (Mbps) and uplink at 5.76 Mbps. The Sierra Wireless USB 306 and USB 307 modems are expected to ship within the first half of this year. For your info, the USB 306 is designed for North American and Asia-Pacific regions, operating on the 850, 1900 and 2100 MHz bands, and the USB 307 is perfect for Europe, operating on the 900 and 2100 MHz bands.
