This space-saving multimedia furniture combines a flatscreen TV and a fireplace into one unit. For a whopping $15,436 you could own one of this luxurious multimedia sofa ‘Athena’ which features an integrated computer. The sofa provides you with a home computer that enables you to connect it with the multi-room systems to take care of media applications from email to watching TV right from the comfort of a chair. The Imago+ Multimedia Kitchen Hood from Faber is here so you can forget about your bad cooking and watch Oprah or Martha Stewart in your kitchen instead. It comes with a luxurious steel/glass finish and features a 19-inch 1,440×900 LCD TV with a brightness level of 300cd/m2 and contrast ratio of 850:1. Mvix has launched the pocket-sized MV-2500U. It features an LCD-less exterior, so you’ll have to access the interface on-screen with a component cable to your HDTV. The Drive also lets you watch files such as MPEG1/2/4, DVD (VOB, IFO), DivX, XviD, BivX or VCD (DAT) for both PAL and NTSC systems along with support for AC3, MP2, MP3, WMA, OGG and M3U audio formats as well as JPEG photos. Inkel is a Korean based company has released the MU-D Multimedia Dictionary; a hybrid device between a PMP with a DMB TV Tuner (Digital TV), and a dictionary.powered by WinCE 5.0. The MU-D also comes with a 4.3†LCD with a 480×272 resolution, 4GB of internal memory support, and supports SDHC cards up to 12GB. The MU-D is a Korea exclusive for an unknown price. [Akihabara]

If multimedia projectors are what you’re looking for, then Epson has dropped two more 3LCD projectors to the PowerLite series that feature an XGA (1,024 x 768) resolution, a built-in Ethernet port for remote monitoring and control, an integrated ten-watt speaker and a closed-caption decoder. Check out this cool new multimedia slider by Samsung known as the Katalyst. The Katalyst comes with a 76 x 220 display, 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, USB connectivity, and GPRS/EDGE. No word on pricing or availability as of right now. Digitalcube is launching its multimedia electronic dictionary ‘i-station UDIC’ in Korea. It supports the content of 50 different kinds of dictionary and multi-search engine. Other features include: a 4.3-inch swiveling LCD touch screen and a full qwerty keyboard,support for TTS(Text to Speech), native speakers’ pronunciation and translating service ‘i-TRANS’ as well as movie captioning service ‘Video DIC’, 30G/60G hard, and powered by an Alchemy AU 1250 CPU and DVE(Dynamic Video Engine). Move over Apple because Samsung has created the F490 wide touchscreen multimedia phone. It has similar features such as 5-megapixel camera, Croix UI, 130MB of memory, video recorder, video playback in all formats, bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, and support for both MP3 and WMA playback. The F490 should drop in Europe this February for $777. Looks like the iPhone might have some competition if this is released in the U.S.

BenQ has dropped one of their first multimedia laptops, the Joybook Q41. Like most laptops, it comes with a 14.1″ wide UltraVivid display, and 2.5″ additional external display, with a processor Intel Core 2 Duo operating system and Microsoft Windows Vista, bluetooth capabilities, and wi-fi as well. However, there hasn’t been much more info than that so BenQ fans might have to hold out on buying on of these until further notice.
