Next year seems to be getting off to a great start already as far as Samsung and laptops are concerned. If a multimedia laptop is what you’re looking for, then the Samsung R700 17-inch laptop is heaven sent. It offers you NVIDIA’s GeForce 8400 GS, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, dual-layer DVD burner, built-in HDMI port, gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and a 7-in-1 multicard reader, and a 1,440 x 900 resolution panel. This model comes out sometime in February for a cheap $970. This should be a hit and well worth the wait.

The Grab n go Recorder & Player personal video recorder, also known as the CM3PVR, is able to record all your favorite movies and TV shows on the included hard drive via its integrated analog TV tuner. The built-in scheduled recording feature allows you to program anything you would like to record, while its timeshift feature enables you to pause live television and record it. The Grab n Go is currently going for $550. You could safely say this is as good as Tivo or better.
