
Samsung and Microsoft have started taking pre-orders of the SUR40 multitouch display. Dubbed as the Surface 2, the device has the ability to recognize fingers, hands, and objects. The Samsung SUR40 is a fully-embedded PC with a high definition 40-inch wide touchscreen display, a 2.9GHz AMD Athlon II X2 Dual-Core processor, the AMD Radeon HD 6750M Series graphics card, a 4GB of RAM, a 320GB of hard disk drive and an embedded version of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with a Surface 2.0 SDK. Perceptive Pixel has recently released a new multitouch display, which is touted as the world’s first professional multitouch desktop display. The display features a 27-inch diagonal IPS (in-plane switching) LED-backlit LCD panel, an impressive 2560 x 1440 resolution for the richest graphics, a 400cd/m2 brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 6.5ms response time and a 178°/178° viewing angle. Pioneer today introduced its new WWS-DT101 52-inch multitouch table in Japan. The device is based on a 52-inch Full HDTV with the multitouch technology, allowing you to manipulate documents with your finger. The Pioneer WWS-DT101 also adopts the TransferJet technology. It is a close-proximity wireless transfer technology, which allows data to be transferred at speeds of up to 560Mbps simply by touching the transmitting device directly to the receiving device. What’s more, the WWS-DT101 comes equipped with an PFU Scan Snap S1100 scanner that lets you scan any documents and display them directly on its huge display. Zebronics has proudly introduced a new touch panel mouse in the form of the ZebTouch. The mouse adopts the multitouch technology and has no click buttons or scroll wheel. The ZebTouch is controlled by the user by just moving his fingers over the surface as a natural device. Too bad, there is no info on pricing or availability at this moment. [Press Release]

The Microsoft Touch mouse has been unveiled at CES 2011. Designed for Windows 7, this new multi-touch device allows you to click, flick, scroll and swipe, making it easy and fun to interact with your computer. The Touch Mouse is equipped with the BlueTrack Technology, so you can use it on virtually any surface. What’s more, the mouse also features a tiny Nano transceiver. The Ezy PC-x9 Tablet PC has a similar design with Apple’s iPad. It is actually a tablet shaped portable computer device that comes equipped with a touchscreen, WI-FI, a 3G network and a multitouch screen. Priced at $679 each, this Apple iPad competitor boasts a 10.2-inch multitouch display, Microsoft Windows 7 OS, a 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. Samsung has announced their latest 22-inch multitouch LCD monitor ‘LD220Z’ for the Russian market. This new widescreen monitor provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 5ms response time. It also comes with two 1.5W built-in speakers and has both D-Sub and HDMI connectors. Unfortunately, there’s no word on pricing yet. [Samsung]

TRUtablet will launch the TRUtablet 9, which is a new 8.9 inch multitouch tablet that runs on Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Priced at $649 upwards, the tablet features a 1GB of RAM (upgradable up to 2GB), up to 128GB SSDs for storage, 3G, and GPS. Other important specs include WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3MP webcam, three USB ports, and an SD card slot. TRUtablet will start taking orders next week and will release the tablet in March 2010. 3M has showcased their new multitouch LCD display during this week’s CES called the 3M Display M2256PW. This 22-inch monitor makes use of 3M’s Projected Capacitive Technology allowing it to support 10-finger multitouch input and advanced gesture capability with very fast response time. In terms of performance, the monitor supports 1680 x 1050 high-definition resolution and provides DVI and VGA video input, audio input, USB and RS232 (serial) dual-mode communication protocol and durable, anti-glare front surface. From these leaked pictures, we can see that the gadget will feature an e-ink screen as expected, but it will be monochrome only.
