Sirius XM Lynx Unveiled

Best Buy has unveiled the new Sirius XM Lynx. Measuring 2.5-inch x 4.5-inch x 0.5-inch, the gadget is powered by a custom version of the Android operating system. The Sirius XM Lynx features a multitouch display and a Wi-Fi connection. The gadget can be used in conjunction with your choice of a car kit, home kit or portable speaker dock (not included). There is also a microSDHC card slot for transferring media. Its battery offers up to 30-hour of operation time on a single battery charge. The Sirius XM Lynx retails for $249.99 each. [Music Sink]

JVC EX-AR9 All-in-one Hi-Fi System

JVC has introduced their latest K2 high-end all-in-one audio device called the EX-AR9. Using this all-in-one Hi-Fi system, you can rip CDs into MP3 files at 128kbps and save them to any USB storage devices. Additionally, the EX-AR9 features a DEUS amplifier and a pair 40W speakers with wooden cone for a more natural and realistic sound. It is also compatible with MP3, WMA and JPEG files. The JVC EX-AR9 will be launched in Japan next month for 129,800 Yen or around $1,660. [House of Japan]

Onkyo X-U1 Micro Hi-Fi System

Onkyo has rolled out the X-U1 Micro Hi-Fi system in Japan. Priced at 35,000 Yen, the music player features a CD player, an FM tuner, a couple of speakers (15W x 2ch output) and a USB port. There is also an iPod/iPhone/iPad cradle and a remote controller, allowing you to control the Onkyo X-U1 from the comfort of your sofa. Additionally, the X-U1 is also compatible with MP3 files. Panasonic has launched a trio of new iPhone/ iPod docking stations in Japan namely the SC-HC55, SC-HC35 and SC-HC05. All of these docking stations come with an FM radio and Bluetooth support. The Panasonic SC-HC55 is a high-end version that features a CD player and Bluetooth hands-free module with a total output of 2x40W, while the Panasonic SC-HC35 lacks of Bluetooth hands-free module. Amazon has started selling the Bose Wave music system for $749.90. This music player has a CD changer that allows for uninterrupted listening from up to four CDs in succession. Amazon has started selling the Orb Music Player (MP-1). This gadget works with your home computer, smartphone, and WiFi network to stream music from your music collection (e.g. iTunes library) or internet music services (e.g. Sirius Radio). The Orb Music Player (MP-1) also allows you to watch your favorite TV programs on your smartphone, without an additional subscription fee. Spotify Concept Mobile Player

Enterprising Interaction Design student Jordi Parra based at the Umea Institute of Design in Sweden has designed the Spotify Concept Mobile Player that allows you to listen to your favorite tunes from any room in within range of your Wi-Fi. The player features a couple of buttons for previous and next track and a volume control. There are also 192 LED nodes, which display volume levels, battery life, and Internet connectivity on the device’s face. Designed for street dancers and musicians, the new JVC RD-R2 BoomBox is equipped with a microSD/SDHC slot, allowing you to store and play music from a memory card of up to 32GB of storage capacity. The JVC RD-D2 comes equipped with a couple of 2.5-Watt speakers and several special features such as a countdown timer, a USB port, an FM tuner, a guitar input, a KORG/metronome tuner and an automatic hand clapping feature to help get you into the rhythm. IDEO C60 Redux RFID Music Player

IDEO has designed the C60 Redux RFID music player, which allows you to blend the past with current technology. The gadget features a turntable and a set of cards, which look like the cassette tape. Each of these cards contains two RFID tags, with a tag representing a song. You just need to drop a card on the turntable and it will begin playing the song. Watch the video after the jump. This gadget features a built in AM/ FM radio with a couple of 10 Watts speakers, a 15watt subwoofer on the front and several touch sensitive buttons for controlling everything.
