
I-O Data has recently unveiled their latest Network Attached Storage (NAS) server called the HDL-Z2WH2T/1D. Powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom D510 dual-core processor, the device is equipped with a 2GB RAM, a 2TB hard drive, one free hard drive bay for expansion and runs on Windows Home Server 2011 OS. The Synology DS212j is an affordable 2-bay NAS server that is designed for small office and home use. Powered by the Synology DSM 3.2 operating system, the device features a 1.2GHz processor with a 256MB of RAM, Gigabit LAN and a pair of USB 2.0 ports. The Synology DS212j provides dual drive bays, allowing you to add up to 6TB of storage space. What’s more, this NAS server consumes only 17.6 Watts in operation and 5.5W in hibernation. QNAP has added three new Turbo NAS servers to its range by unveiling the single-bay TS-112 (pictured above), dual-bay TS-212 and quad-bay TS-412. Designed for SOHO (small office/home office) and home users, these devices are equipped with a 1.2GHz Marvell 6281 processor, a 256MB of DDR2 memory, a 16MB of flash storage, Gigabit Ethernet, 3/4 USB 2.0 ports and have a built-in UPnP media server (TwonkyMedia) feature for playing content via a media player or a console (PS3 or Xbox 360). A new 4-bay NAS server is about to enter the market, this time from Synology called the DiskStation DS411slim. Designed for small businesses and home users, this compact NAS device is equipped with a 1.6GHz processor, a 256MB DDR3 RAM and can accommodate up to four 2.5-inch SATA hard drives, solid state drives or hybrid hard drives for a maximum of 4TB of storage space. In terms of connectivity ports, it comes with Gigabit Ethernet, eSATA and two USB 2.0, and is pre-loaded with DiskStation Manager 3.0. RaidSonic has announced a new dual-bay NAS server to its range by launching the Icy Box IB-NAS6220 for the European market. Designed for home users, the device is equipped with a 1.2GHz Marvel 6281 processor, a 256MB RAM, a 256MB of flash memory, Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 2.0 ports, a rear fan for cooling and can accommodate up to two 3.5-inch SATA hard or solid state drives for a maximum of 4TB of storage space. Taiwanese storage solution provider Thecus has unveiled its latest Network Attached Storage (NAS) device called the N7700PRO. The device is equipped with seven 3.5-inch SATA drive bays, an LCD screen, a Core 2 Duo processor, a 4GB RAM and a 300W power supply. In addition, it also supports multiple RAID setups (0, 1, 5, 6, 10) and comes with several connectivity ports including four USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet and eSATA.
