Another gadget from the land of expensive hard drives and aluminum casings, the Zigsow ZSS-1 SSD NAS specifically targeted at music junkies and people who require total silent storage for their line of work. The Japanese company packs two 64GB SSDs (128GB of total storage) in a rack style fan-less aluminum case that comes with a LAN port and two USB 2.0 ports. Not really worth 315,000 Japanese yens (over $3000) IMHO but who am I to judge. [Akihabara News]

We here at TechFresh love NAS (Network Access Storage) because with NAS you can have not-so-limited storage for all those movie downloads you’ve been wasting your time with for the last few years. This 4-bay NAS from Western Digital comes with a whopping 4TB storage space, gigabit ethernet, multiple RAID config support, and can act as an iTunes server. They call it the ShareSpace 4TB Network Storage System and it’s tagged at $999 if you got the juice, or you can get the 2TB version for a $300 discount. Sony will be dropping their multimedia server / NAS drives today in Japan. The VGF-HS1S features gigabit ethernet, DLNA compatibility, an integrated display, USB connectivity and a hidden multicard reader along with support for AVCHD, MPEG2, HDV, JPEG, BMP, PNG, WAV, MP3, ATRAC, AAC and WMA file formats. IO Data will be releasing theDiXiM HVL4-G2.0 NAS for the new Regza ZH500s. It’s compliant with the latest DLNA / DTCP-IP standards to record TV shows with the network, space for four drives up to 2 TB in a RAID 5 array, for a space room of up to 1.5 TB, records on Toshiba’s TVs only as of right now, and can be found in Japan later this month for 111,615 or $1,090 US. Drobo now made a drives storage system that can mix and match any types of hard disks to make one device that has easy access. So with the released the DroboShare, which is an Ethernet module that turns Drobo into a network attached storage (NAS) to share your files with several users at Gigabit Ethernet speeds. DroboShare is going for $199 and Drobo is $499.
