Nokia will launch the new Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition in the third quarter of 2009. The handset comes bundled with lifetime WALK navigation and voice-guided DRIVE licenses. Each purchase will come with a Nokia car kit, a car charger, and the latest version of Ovi Maps, which includes high-res aerial images, weather service, terrain maps, and 3D landmarks for over 200 cities. Sony Ericsson has announced their latest GPS-enabled phone, which is known as the Sony Ericsson U10i. The UMTS HSPA phone features an 8.1MP digital camera with flash, a microSD cards for storage expansions, a slide-out keypad, a full touch screen display, Bluetooth, and a 1000mAh removable battery. The Becker Z205 is the company’s latest GPS navigation system which has some high-end features. This navigator supports TMC Pro receiver for the latest traffic updates, Bluetooth, text-to-speech, voice commands. Art Lebedev has designed another cool gadget in the form of the Navigarius GPS. This round-screened GPS features a touchscreen display, a USB port, a microSD, and a cigarette lighter adapter. Sony has released their latest PND in the form of the NV-U3DV. The gadget provides a 4GB of internal storage and a 6.1-inch WQVGA (480×272) LCD screen, which is larger than most GPS navigation gadgets on the market. The Japanese version of NV-U3DV will have an antenna for television broadcasts. Users can also play their own movies, music, and pictures (MPEG-4/AVC+H.264 with restrictions, MP3/AAC up to 320kbps, and JPEG). No word on pricing so far. [Sony Insider]

The FineDrive Voice 3.0 is the latest speech recognition-enabled navigation device from FineDigital for the Korean market. This portable device is based on SiRF Prima platform and adopts ETRI’s Fine SRTM 3.0 speech recognition engine, allowing you to control all the functions within the device through speech. Dubbed as the PROVIA A7+, this portable device is powered by an Intel’s Monahans processor @ 806MHz and features a 7-inch LCD monitor with 800 x 480 resolution, a dual-DMB function for enjoying T-DMB and TPEG services at the same time, a rear camera, a USB 2.0 port, an AV output and supports NIP (Navi in Picture).
