
NEC is about to drop another LCD monitor ‘MultiSync LCD-EX201W’ for the mass market. Coming in either white or black color option, this new 20-inch LED-backlight monitor makes use of a TN panel and provides 1600 x 900 native resolution, 25,000:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness and 5ms response time. Not only that, this widescreen monitor also consumes just 15W of power during normal operation, and features both DVI and DisplayPort connectors. NEC is bringing you their newest LCD monitor, the MultiSync EX231Wp. Featuring a PVA panel, this ultra-slim 23-inch LED-backlight monitor provides 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 3,000:1 (25,000:1 DCR) contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness and 25ms response time, and consumes just 27W during normal operation. NEC will release a new Android tablet that features dual 7-inch (600 x 800) displays in Japan next month. The NEC LifeTouch W features the Google Android 2.2 with access to the Android Market, a 1GB ARM Cortex A8/Mobile CPU, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, a 3MP digital camera, a USB 2.0 port, a card reader and a GPS module. Based on Intel’s new Sandy Bridge platform, this space-saving machine sports a 23-inch 1920 x 1080 3D monitor, a 2.0GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core processor, a 1GB GeForce GT 425M graphics card, an 8GB RAM, a 2TB hard drive, a Blu-ray drive, a TV tuner, a card reader, WiFi, two USB 3.0 ports, six USB 2.0 ports and is pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. NEC will launch a new Windows 7 tablet in Japan. Powered by a fast 1.5GHz Oak Trail Atom Z670 processor, the NEC VersaPro VK15V/TM-C features the Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32Bit, a 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 64GB of Solid State Drive (SSD), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI, an SDHC card slot and a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) display screen. NEC has unveiled two new short throw projectors, the M300XS and M300WS. Both projectors are ideal for education and small-to-medium-sized businesses. Replacing the NP610S and NP510WS projectors, these new models feature 0.47:1 throw ratio for easier installation on a wall above the screen or whiteboard, and a short-throw distance of 1.8 to 3.6 feet. The NEC M300XS and M300WS also provide XGA and WXGA native resolution, respectively. These projectors have a 3000 lumens brightness with up to 5000-hour of lamp life, HDMI, D-sub, USB port and a built-in 10-watt speaker. NEC has announced the commercial launch of the HS100-10, the world’s first scanner that can simultaneously acquire fingerprint and finger vein characteristics without having to touch your finger. Since the scanner scans both fingerprints and vein characteristics, this technology is more secure and harder to cheat. The device combines a conventional optical sensor with the company’s original finger data capturing method. The NEC HS100-10 will be exhibited at Pulse 2011 in Las Vegas this weekend, and will start shipping in May 2011. [NEC]

NEC has recently showed off their latest dual-screen Android tablet ‘LT-W Cloud Communicator’ at CES 2011. Powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex processor, the tablet sports two 7-inch 800 x 600 TFT LCD touchscreen displays, a 3.0-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, an SDHC card slot, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 3G or 4G (optional), an accelerometer sensor, two USB ports and runs on Android 2.1 OS.
