NEC today introduced two new projectors, the NP905 and the NP901W. The NP905 offers 1,024 x 768 (XGA) native resolution while the NP901W provides 1,280 x 800 (WXGA) resolution. Both projectors also features a maximum resolution at 1,600 x 1,200 (UXGA). The NP905 has a brightness of 3,000 lumens while the NP901W has a 2,000 lumens brightness level. Other features include HDMI 1.3, a couple of VGA, RCA and S-Video inputs, with audio output courtesy of basic RCAs and mini stereo plugs. Japanese NTTDoCoMo has decided to release 16 brand new mobile phones to its lineup. One of these handsets is the NEC N906i clamshell phone with a 5.2MP sensor and a smile detection. Its 3 inch VGA (640 x 480) display screen is perfect for watching videos or web browsing. Other features includes HSDPA connectivity, GPS, Yamaha audio chip for crisp and clear sound, Micro SD card slot and support for majority of audio and video formats. NEC today introduced a new VersaPro VE laptop that comes with an “Eco Button”. Using this button, it will decrease energy consumption by 20% by reducing the CPU speed and screen brightness. NEC claims its new Versa S9100 laptop to be the “toughest notebook in the world”. Its top cover is specially built to withstand a massive 300Kgs per square foot of pressure. However, the keyboard itself is not water resistant, too bad for a “toughest notebook in the world”. NEC will be dropping the AtermWR1200H wireless LAN router in Japan. It’s about (27x85x110mm f110g) with built in antenna, and is more than half as small as the previous router. No word on the pricing for this router. [Akihabara]
Here is a new 7 inch LCD module from NEC. The new 7 inch amorphous-silicon thin-film-transistor LCD module (NL8048BC19-02) offers WVGA resolution and has a long-life white LED as the light source. It is able to provides 50,000 hours of life span. The screen also has low power consumption. NEC has unveiled their new mobile projectors, the NP100 and NP200. These projectors sports a contrast ratio of 1,300 to 1, monitor output, VGA, S-Video and composite video/audio inputs and an aspect ratio of 4:3 and 16:9. The NP100 has only SVGA (800×600) resolution, while the NP200 offers XGA (1024×768) resolution for computers and other high-resolution sources. NEC has made the La Vie in many designs and has now launched a new one based on a Japanese series called Kimi Kiss. The Kimi Kiss laptop comes in tones of colors along with a 2GHz Mobile Sempron 3600+ CPU, 512MB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive, DVD combo drive and a 15.4-inch 1,280 x 800 resolution panel.
