
The Toshiba NB205 is the company’s latest netbook that will be available in the US very soon. This 10.1-inch netbook is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU, a 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Windows XP OS, a 2-in-1 memory card slot, an RGB port, WiFi and a six-cell battery. The NB205 is available in two different versions: the NB205-210 ($350) that only comes in black and has a full flat keyboard or the NB205-310 ($400) that comes in metallic finish with four different colors (brown, white, pink and blue), and has a raised “chiclet” keyboard as well as Bluetooth capabilities. MSI has announced the availability of its ultra-slim MSI Wind X340 netbook for the US market. The X340 was first introduced back in April, in case you missed it, here’s a brief reminder; measuring only 0.78 inches thick, the X340 is packed with a 13.4-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, an Intel ULV SU3500 processor, an Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics, a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 2GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, an SD/MMC card reader, 2 USB ports, VGA and HDMI outputs, WiFi, Bluetooth, Windows Vista Home Premium OS and an optional 4 cell or 8 cell battery. The ASUS Eee PC 1000HV is the company’s latest netbook that features an ATI Radeon HD 3450 graphics with 256MB of memory. Other interesting specs you’ll find within this new system include a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor, a 1.3MP webcam, a 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a VGA port, three USB 2.0 ports, an SD/SDHC/MMC card reader, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 and a six cell battery. The Dell Latitude 2100 is the company’s latest semi-rugged netbook that is aimed for school use. This new machine comes packed with a 10.1-inch display with 1024 x 576 resolution, an Intel Atom N270 processor, a 1GB RAM, an optional 16GB SSD to a 250GB hard drive, an optional anti-microbial keyboard, WiFi and a choice of XP Home, Vista Home Basic and Linux Ubuntu OS. Samsung has released a special edition of the 10-inch (NC10-11PBK) netbook. It comes with a higher capacity 6-cell battery, that provides nine and a half hours of operating time. The new NC10 also features a user-requested larger trackpad and a glossy screen. Unfortunately, the netbook is priced at $499 with free shipping, which is $50 more than the original price tag. It seems that NEC is trying to enter the netbook market with the release of the new LaVie Light. The netbook comes jam packed with an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 8.9 inch LCD display, 160GB hard drive, 1GB RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity, three USB 2.0 ports, SD memory card slot, and a 1.3MP camera. Packard Bell comes back with a new netbook which is known as the “Dot”.
