
Nikon today introduced the Forestry Pro Laser rangefinder, which is a successor to the previously released Forestry 550. The new Forestry Pro features a three-point height measurement function that allows for accurate measurements. This waterproof Laser rangefinder provides 6x magnification and several measurement readout options including actual distance, horizontal distance, angle (degrees), and height. Nikon Corp and Nikon Imaging Japan Inc. will provide a service of converting a 2D picture into a 3D picture and displaying it on a digital photo frame viewable with the naked eye. Dubbed as “my Picturetown 3D”, the service will be launched in early December 2010 in Japan. These 3D pictures can be displayed on the Nikon NF-300i digital picture frame, which is dedicated to the my Picturetown 3D service. For your info, the Nikon NF-300i comes jam packed with a 7.2-inch LCD panel and lenticular lenses on it. 3D images can be viewed within a distance of about 1 meter. The resolutions of 2D and 3D images are both 800 x 600 pixels. The Android 2.1-powered digital picture frame features an Ethernet port supporting 100Base-TX, a USB port and a wireless LAN capability compatible with IEEE802.11b/g. The fee for the “my Picturetown 3D” service is 1,995 Yen ($24.49) per month or 19,950 Yen ($244) per year including rent for the Nikon NF-300i and a fee for converting up to three 2D images into 3D per month. Nikon has unveiled their latest digital camera in the form of the Coolpix P100 superzoom. This camera comes jam packed with a five-way stabilized 26x optical zoom lens in front of a 10.3-megapixel CMOS sensor with ISO 3200 sensitivity, Backside Illumination and Active D-Lighting. The camera also captures macro shots at 0.4 inches, and there are in-camera HDR features, a 40-shot pre-shooting cache, and a 3-inch 460,000-dot tilting LCD.
