Novatel Wireless and Bell have collaborated to release the 4G LTE Novatel Wireless U679 Turbo Stick that provides Bell Mobility customers in LTE coverage areas mobile Internet download speeds as fast as 75 Megabits per second (Mbps). Known as the slimmest 4G LTE USB modem on the market today, the device features an internal MIMO receive antenna. What makes the Novatel U679 Turbo Stick more interesting is that it is also backwards compatible to both Dual Carrier HSPA+ networks (up to 42Mbps) or HSPA+ (up to 21Mbps). The 4G LTE Novatel Wireless U679 Turbo Stick retails for $59.95 on a three year contract, or for $199.95 with no contact. [Engadget]

Novatel Releases MiFi 3352 With MiFi OS

Novatel has proudly introduced the first mobile 3G router with Novatel’s own MiFi OS platform, allowing you to customize its functionality. There is a web-based portal that enables you to install web widgets viewable from the router and run native apps that take advantage of the local link. The router connects at a peak 7.2Mbps on HSPA-based 3G networks and shares it with as many as five other devices. Additional features include a microSDHC slot (up to 32GB) and a GPS navigation capability. Orange is the first carrier to offer the MiFi 3352 in the UK and charges a minimum of £49 ($79) for the router with a £15 ($24) contract plan that offers 1GB at any time, 1GB off-peak and unlimited BT Wi-Fi. Novatel's MiFi 2200 Portable EV-DO Router

Sprint has released the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 portable EV-DO router for use on its network. The battery-powered EV-DO router allows users to connect up to five WiFi-enabled devices to Sprint’s EV-DO Rev. A network, and it’ll be marketed in stores as the Sprint Mobile Hotspot. According to the carrier, this device will be the first in the US to support MiFi’s GPS capabilities, allowing users to take advantage of select location and mapping applications. It is a compact modem that is optimized for HSPA networks in Europe with single-band 2100Mhz operation. Measuring 10mm thick, the Ovation MC935D provides peak download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and peak upload speeds of 5.76 Mbps. Novatel Ovation has just released their new product, the MC760 USB EVDO Modem. It’s claimed to be the world’s smallest USB EVDO modem that you can well, practically carry in your pocket (measuring at two inches and weighing less than an ounce). It supports Windows (Vista, XP, 2000), Mac OS X and Linux systems. Other specs include the on-board GPS with integrated microSD slot with capacity up to 8GB. No words on the pricing yet but it will be commercially available this quarter. [Gizmodo]

Novatel MC930D USB Modem

Novatel just released its new Ovation MC930D USB modem. The MC930D will download at rates of 7.2Mbps as well as upload at rates of 2.1Mbps. Setup should be pretty easy because this baby comes with automatic configuration, along with flash memory, and a splitter cable that powers beyond any notebook’s USB port. This modem should drop sometime this month for an unknown price.
