
NVIDIA is ready to release its next-generation GPU after the Lunar New Year in February 2008. The first product of GeForce 9 family is D9E, a high-end product based on 65nm fabrication technology, supporting DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1. According to Digitimes, the company is also planning to launch a mid-range 55nm GeForce 9 family product named D9P in June 2008.

NVIDIA introduced a new version of its high-end graphics card. The GeForce 8800 GT offers 112 stream processors, a fast 256-bit memory interface, and second-generation PureVideo HD technology. The card’s core and memory are clocked at 600- and 900MHz respectively. Other features include 1500MHz shader clock, 512MB memory, and 57.6GB/sec memory bandwidth. The GeForce 8800GT is now available with the price range from $199 to $259.

NVIDIA introduced the NVIDIA GoForce 6100 at 3GSM. It is the first application processor that designed for mobile devices. According to some friends at NVIDIA, the GoForce 6100 processor is a “highly integrated and optimized multimedia solution” and consumes “less than half the power of any applications processor available on the market today.”

Dell introduced the XPS 710 H2C “Black Edition” that utilities Dell’s new water-cooling system “H2C”. This cooling system keeps the system very cool and almost completely silent. Priced at $5,500, this gaming computer is powered by an overclocked 3,2 GHz Intel QX6700 quad-core CPU, 4 GB DDR2 RAM, dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX graphics cards, and two 10k RPM 160 GB hard drives. ASUS has unveiled their new Z84Jp. It is a sleek 17-inch notebook that boasts an Intel Core 2 Duo processor (up to 2.33-GHz T7600), up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, SATA HDD support, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics, and a WSXGA+ display. Other features include four USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port, Bluetooth 2.0 support, a built-in 2.0MP webcam, and a 7-in-1 memory card reader. Its price tag has not been announced yet.
The Z84Jp release is expected mid to late January and once Vista is released it will be an option on this notebook (Vista hits on January 31).

Rumor has it that the upcoming MacBook is going to be hotter and thinner. Mac OS Rumors reports that Apple has listed all the specifications of the new thinner MacBook. They received the list from “trusted sources in Cupertino and Southeast Asia”, whatever that means. Here’s the breakdown
